PhotographyBLOG Goes on Holiday
PhotographyBLOG is taking a much needed break - I am away in Tenerife on business for a few days, and then I’m off to watch the Tour de France cycle race. Normal service will resume around Monday July 11th. There is still plenty to do in my absence, with the Gallery, Competitions and Forums all open for business - only the News section of the site will be rather quiet. And if you email me, please don’t expect a reply until I get back. Until then, have a good couple of weeks, and aurevoir!

When you return from your break, could you please check into your email notification feature for follow-up comments? I am almost positive that I have been selecting that feature, but I have never received any such email notification.
).
You most likely will not be reading this comment until after July 11; however, just in case that you are, I hope that you are enjoying your vacation, and have a great 4th of July (although, I imagine the 4th of July is not such a big holiday for you Brits

Do you have Javascript enabled in your browser Gary?

Yes, I have "Enable Java" selected in my Preferences, and "Java virtual machine" is set to "Apple MRJ", which is the only available choice (the "Microsoft Virtual Machine" choice is greyed out).

No, it was purely coincidental that I was checking your website, as I do each and every morning (EST), just after you had posted your comment.
I do not know if this would make any difference, but the browser I use to visit your website is not my AOL browser, the one which I use for emails; however, both browsers have Java enabled and Apple MRJ selected. I also checked to make sure that I have supplied my correct AOL email address to you, which I have, and I have set my AOL Mail Controls to allow all emails to get through (although AOL may be using its own SPAM control, of which I am unaware).

After doing some research, I really think your auto-generated email notifications are being blocked by AOL's anti-spam controls. I found one case where an email was blocked because it had a blank "Return-path" field (http://www.jezuk.co.uk/cgi-bin/view/jez?id=1640). I also found a link for AOL "Guidelines" and "Technical Email Standards" in response to the FAQ why an AOL member is not receiving an email from someone else (http://www.aol.co.uk/about/policy/spam/memberfaq.html). Hope this helps resolve the problem.

It seems that AOL was rejecting all emails sent from my account - this has now been fixed (fingers crossed!).

You can uncross your fingers, it is now working perfectly. Thank you, Mark.

If only all websites were as responsive to their users as PhotographyBLOG.com. It has been two weeks since I submitted my questions to DigitalCameraInfo.com regarding their digital camera resolution test, and how their measurements relate to the manufacturer's claimed CCD effective pixels, and still no reply (although they did correct the typos I reported). I will keep you posted.
