PhotographyBLOG Portfolios: Jason Scott Tilley
The 68th PhotographyBLOG Portfolio has been submitted by Jason Scott Tilley.
“I enjoy taking photographs of people wherever I find them. This set of photographs was taken all over India after a long holiday. I have been working on a collection of images showing people in the environment they are found. They are very brief encounters with people and I try only to take a couple of frames per person and never to direct the person. This way I hope they show the mood the person was in when I found them.”

The black and white photos are amazing, they have a Bill Brandt style to them.

This is my cousin Jasons work.
His photo's are truly amazing, the more people that see them the better - there are plenty more where these came from.

Jason, just wonderful to see real photography as you've done it, with the spirit and intention, and ethos, of the true documentarian. May you Write with Light in myriad of ways for a long time! Thanks for sharing your vision.

Hi There,

I was wondering would you have any tip for taking photos similar to the black and white ones you have taken OR similar to the recent watchmen B&W photos... eg
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.cinematical.com/media/2009/02/watch021109.jpg
I notice that both are super detailed showing things like wrinkles very sharply. Are you taking your photos in RAW then doing something to them in photoshop?
Thanks for your help
