PhotographyBLOG Review: Sanyo Xacti C1
The Sanyo Xacti C1 is quite unlike any other digital camera available today, looking more like a tiny version of a digital camcorder than a conventional digicam. It has been designed like this principally because it allows you to record both 3.2 megapixel still images and 640x480, 30fps MPEG-4 movies. Other notable features include a macro mode that allows you to get as close as 2cms away from the subject, and a 5.8 optical zoom lens that is equivalent to 38–220mm on a 35mm format camera. So is the Sanyo Xacti C1 the perfect fusion of still and moving images, or just a compromise between the two? Read on to discover the answer.

Sanyo has a new camera similar to the C1.
The new one is the DMX-C4.
It features a 4.23 megapixel CCD, and some type of
image-stabilization. It also has a larger LCD than the C1.
I don't know when the C4 will be officially available
outside of Japan. Currently (Nov. 2004) resellers
in Hong Kong are offering the C4 on eBay for around
US $400-$500 (plus $30-$50 or more for shipping) ...

I use this little thing now for more than a half year, the main problem is that if the light conditions are not perfect the autofocus has problems which result in bad picture. the flash is practically useless because if the object is further away than 1.5 meter the light wont touch the object. They should have take a little more quality control on this and make the lens a little bit bigger so that more light comes in.

At your recommended retailers webpage (pixmania) they state in the tech specs that the camera has Video input capabilities. This feature would be of significant importance to me as this device would be small and light enough to be used with a bullet cam in an extreme sports or motorsport application. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me please?

I'm just wondering if there are plans for an official in-depth C4 or C5 review from you guys for us out here. I'm interested in this camera but still holding off for the price on this and the C5 to drop a little.

Does anyone know if there's a red eye reduction feature for this camera? The pictures I take keeps having them and I can't seem to find the solution for it in the manual. Please email me (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you know. Thanks!
