Consumer electronics manufacturer Sakar International has announced the launch of four Polaroid-branded digital video cameras. The line-up includes tne Polaroid iD820, billed as one of the world’s thinnest, lightest true 1080p HD camcorders ($179.99), the Polaroid iD879 with 5x optical zoom ($179.99), the Polaroid iD450 with built-in Wi-Fi ($179.99) and the Polaroid iD640 waterproof, shock-proof, dust-proof and freeze-proof pocket video camera ($99.99).

Consumer electronics manufacturer Sakar International today announced one of the world’s thinnest and lightest full 1080p high-definition camcorders is set to hit store shelves this fall. The debut signals the launch of its new line of high-performance Polaroid-branded digital camcorders, the first in a family of new digital video products to be available this year under an exclusive licensing agreement.

The Polaroid iD820, one of the world’s thinnest, lightest true 1080p HD camcorders. With an ultra-thin body just ½-inch wide, this extremely lightweight camera packs a 3-inch 16:9 gesture touch screen and 12 megapixel resolution into less than 4 oz. Tiny enough to drop into a shirt pocket, the iD820 features dual-stream recording capability that lets you record two sets of video simultaneously on the card—one in full 1080p hi-def for the ultimate viewing experience, and the other in YouTube-ready quality for fast and easy uploading. The iD820 comes with its own carrying case and HDMI cable, and operates on a lithium-ion battery for exceptional recording time. The Polaroid iD879 featuring 5x optical zoom, making it one of the thinnest, lightest, 1080p HD camcorders with built-in optical zoom. Also featuring a 3-inch gesture touch screen and dual-stream recording, the iD879 includes dual memory card slots—a MicroSD and SD—for double the memory and recording time. This 12 megapixel palm-sized camera will be available in stores in September, complete with carrying case and HDMI cable included for $179.99.
The Polaroid iD450 with built-in Wi-Fi lets you stream live video to the Web via the onboard Ustream app, upload instantly to YouTube, Facebook or other sharing sites, and even view live video on iPad, iPod or Android devices via the downloadable Apple and Android apps available from the AppStore and Android Market. Featuring full 1080p video quality, the iD450 makes it easy to capture and share live action as it happens with just a tap on the 3-inch gesture touch screen. The Polaroid iD640 waterproof, shock-proof, dust-proof and freeze-proof pocket video camera with 4x digital zoom and 2-inch LCD display captures 720p HD video up to 10feet underwater. Perfect for boating, diving, rafting and other watersport adventures, the pocket-size iD640features an SD card slot and comes with its own lithium battery and charger. Look for it in an array of bright colors beginning in September, at a suggested retail price of $99.99.
In addition to this first installment of Polaroid-branded camcorders, Sakar will also develop a line of Polaroid-branded digital cameras as part of the exclusive licensing deal. Both product lines will debut in North America and portions of Latin America and Europe this year.
