Re-design for PhotographyBLOG

Mark Goldstein | PhotographyBLOG | August 13, 2004 | 5 Comments

You’ve hopefully noticed by now that PhotographyBLOG has changed a little grin

I’ve taken a good, hard look at the site and removed some of the clutter, as well as changing the navigation to a top horizontal menu bar. The Search box has also made a welcome return -with nearly 3,500 news entries so far it should make info easier to find!

As usual with these things, if you spot any site errors then please email me and let me know.

It's nice - the main sections have links at the top. Have you noticed slow loading of your site though? What I tend to see is that the top section (including the Home, Photos... links etc) loads straight away - then it thinks for quite some time (about 2-3 seconds) and then displays the rest of the page - do you know if there would be any way of this being speeded up?

The main site is basically split into two parts, using tables for the layout. The first table holds the banner and top menu, the second holds the rest of each page. It doesn't display until all elements within the table have loaded, hence the delay.
