Ricoh GR Digital Review at DPReview
DPReview have just reviewed the Ricoh GR Digital, an 8 megapixel compact digicam based on the GR Series of 35mm compact film cameras.
“A niche product, and one that Ricoh should be applauded for designing in a market stuffed with ‘me too’ cameras, but one that its hard to wholeheartedly recommend. If it had breathtaking image quality the price would be irrelevant, but as it stands you’re paying nearly as much as a Nikon D50 outfit for the camera…”

#1 nick in japan
My initial feelings about this camera were very positive, and some sample pictures looked great, but that was long ago..I was actually considering this as a new member of the family, as something that would be a collectible, and as a user, NOT!
It appears that there is one thing lacking, which Ricoh should have realized, a processing engine that dealt with noise! Sorry Ricoh, one less sale in Japan!
Maybe the Gr-D2 will have the Panasonic VenusIII.....Maybe even a GR-D-21-VIII!
