Samsung GX-1 Rumours
With the CES show fast approaching (starts January 4th) the usual round of rumours, sightings and dodgy product shots are appearing. There are strong rumours over on the DPReview forums of a new DSLR from Samsung called the GX-1, which looks identical to the Pentax *ist DS2 and kit lens, but thankfully has a marginally better name. The fact that Samsung’s first digital SLR looks so familiar is hardly surprising, as earlier this year Pentax and Samsung announced that they would be collaborating on a new Samsung DSLR. Collaboration is one thing, rebadging an existing 6 month old camera and hoping to pass it off as a brand new product is another - let’s wait until the rumours are confirmed or not before passing further judgement…

Let's hope the quality is better than the 815. Something that could actually compete and thus put more pressure on Nikon and Canon to produce better and better cameras.

Actually not another dSLR, but an existing Pentax *ist DS2 with a different name on it.
If it's significantly cheaper than the Pentax, probably a good deal. If not, why bother..
The really good news is it will be compatible with about 30 years worth of excellent Pentax lenses....
