Jim, as long as you don't mind manual-only focusing, this should be an excellent alternative to very expensive equivalents from Canon and Nikon.

Samyang surprised photographers with the 14mm ultra-wide lens that proved itself to be a very sharp, low-distortion, low-cost lens and it was selling faster than Samyang was able to produce.

Samyang makes surprisingly good and cheap lenses that fulfill the needs of budget-minded photographers. They sell them under several brand names in the USA, as far as I know.

I own a Canon 5D MKI and MKII and a Samyang 85mm f1.4 and it is a lovely lens!
High quality but @1.4 it is very difficult to focus so I added a chip to have AF confirmation.

Hey Jim...i have these lens for about two weeks now. I'm using them on a T2i but for a 5D MarkII its even better. Philip Bloom recomended these lens to me because i was in a rush and i had no time to search for reviews of 35mm lenses and i asked him. I'm really happy about the way they work. Especialy for video...the manual focus and aperture are excelent. I've never heard about these company before either but i trust Philip Bloom so it seems that i made a good deal. And for 400$ .... not bad at all.
