Avoid Digital Disasters: File Recovery Software Resurrects Deleted Files, Photos, Music, and E-Mail From Virtually All Digital Devices
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/—Digital technology allows users to delete an unwanted image still in the camera, something that millions of novice photographers are learning. Today’s photographers can prevent the heartache of lost photos with an easy-to-use software tool like Search and Recover to find and recover deleted digital photos.
Proprietary new StrongScan(R) from iolo technologies helps users locate and identify lost files even months and years after being deleted using improved search algorithms. Enhanced file pattern searching locates and recovers even the most difficult items by scanning byte-by-byte. Data recovery is designed to be fast, safe and reliable.
The Search and Recover Version 3 powerful tool arsenal is designed for both advanced and novice users to quickly and easily find and recover deleted, destroyed or damaged files from DVD-R, CD-R, and other optical media. The software works with digital cameras, and with music players, compact flash, memory sticks, smart media, hard drives, and other portable media.
Users can recover pictures, videos, songs, e-mail, documents, spreadsheets, or any other PC file or folder with the easy to use interface—even after the Recycle Bin is emptied. An easy-to-use wizard recovers important items in three steps; select the file types to find, select where to look, and instantly recover the items found with one click.
“iolo has experienced tremendous success with Search and Recover, the most robust tool for PC users to find and reassemble data,” said Scott Yenor, iolo chief information officer.

Iolo are the worst software company I have ever heard of and are only outdone by their woeful products. Search and Recover 3 simply doesn't... I searched for reviews before buying and only found good ones (no doubt written by Iolo employees or beneficiaries). I purchased this software in an attempt to recover some photos. Search and Recover 3 was able to display a preview of those photos which was what led me to lay down my hard earned cash. Unfortunately when I had paid for the software and actually went to recover the photos it all went rather badly. None of the files that were recovered by Search and Recover 3 worked on any imaging program I tried. I was surprised by this because the card had not been used since I deleted the files. To prove a point I copied a fresh image to a folder, deleted it and then immediately attempted to recover it with Search and Recover 3. Search and Recover 3 failed miserably. Once again the image was not viewable. At this point I attempted to contact Iolo to obtain a refund. This is when I discovered Iolo's policy of no refunds. Foolishly in good faith I attempted to contact Iolo anyway to point out that they were in fact falsely advertising their product. I also explained the circumstances of my purchase and the fact that Search and Recover 3 failed to recover an image despite being deleted immediately before attempted resurrection with Search and Recover 3. See below for Iolo's response.
Amazon should immediately cease vending Iolo's software.

Dear *******,
In this circumstance, often there is enough of the file present for Search and Recover to display a preview, but not enough to recover an intact file. What you should do in this circumstance is right mouse-click on the preview and select the option to copy the preview and then paste the preview into an imaging program like MS Paint.
Thank you for your time and patience. If you have any further questions, suggestions, or comments about any of our products, don't hesitate to contact me.
