Sharp Announces 6 Megapixel CCD

DPReview are reporting today that Sharp have just announced a 6 megapixel CCD, which is exactly the same size as the CCDs used in the current crop of 4 and 5 megapixel digital cameras (1/1.8” type). So expect to see a number of new releases of 6 megapixel compact digicams throughout 2004. DPReview have a photo of the new Sharp sensor and specifications list.
