Sony A100 Review at DPReview
DPReview have just reviewed the new 10.2 megapixel Sony A100 DSLR camera.
“The A100 is aimed at the ‘serious amateur’ market, however from a price point of view it doesn’t easily slot into one of the existing market segments. Depending on how you look at it the A100 is either an expensive entry-level digital SLR with an advanced set of features or a bargain in the higher segment (EOS 30D etc.), without a metal body and high speed shooting.”

How can he call it Highly Recommended with all those obviosuly annoying Cons? In fact, he certainly isn't very enthusiastic about too many of the Pros either!
Phil is so full of crap so much of the time, I doubt too many people actually read anything he says. I think most of us just look at the various pics of the cameras and that's about it on his site.

lol
I held the alpha at Henry's (Canada photostore) and it felt really cheap like. First thing I thought was "wow, this is like a toy."
Their lenses look pretty nice, but I would feel self-conscious if anyone saw me with it. I put it down quickly before I caught Sony-induced leprosy.

Sony-induced leprosy, huh? Very funny!
I had an argument once, with a bunch of people who were absolutely in love with all Sony products, in support of them, etc etc, and the whole time they wanted to know my reasons for why Sony was no longer a major player in the mainstream market - of course, they were all French and rather insular, but man, I realized then that most people in the general public really wouldn't have a clue as to what is good or what, without the internet.
I used to like Sony products too - most of their stuff is pretty dependable, fairly reliable without too much fuss, and they do make great stuff like the PSP. So I am sure this camera would be fine, but I guess it'll take a few years before people accept that Sony makes good DSLRs.
