Sony Japan has officially announced the discontinuance of the Sony A900 full frame digital SLR camera. The 24-megapixel Sony A900, which we praised for its high resolution, excellent viewfinder, robust build and intuitive controls, has been in production for three years, and is still available new on Amazon for $2,699.

So begins the progression of Sony to a completely translucent mirror lineup. I wish they would have kept a full frame offering on the table, just for the ability to get a good low-light system out.

EVFs could never replace the real-time image characteristics offered a prism-type optical viewfinder . besides , the electricity used in generating the EVF image eats up a camera's battery power . simply compare the Canon's 7Ds 800shots/charge to that of SonyA77s 530 , and one would easy conclude that EVFs are a drain to a cameras electrical source .

That's to bad, I have used the A900 and A850 for the last 2 years for my wedding photography company "Igor Photography" and I really love both camera bodies, I's truly a no-nonsense tool for both professional photographers and advanced amateurs. But I believe that a new pro camera from Sony is around the corner.
