Sony have identified a problem with the DSC-T20 camera, where photos can’t be taken because of vibrating of the camera body. This is due to a mechanical problem with the lens. The problem only applies to DSC-T20’s with certain serial numbers. Sony are offering a free out of warranty repair to solve the issue.

Sony has recently discovered an issue with the Digital Still Camera “Cyber-shot” DSC-T20.
Sony will offer a free out of warranty repair to solve the issue. Please contact the nearest Sony Service Centre.

Symptom and cause
Pictures cannot be taken because of vibrating of the camera body. This is due to a mechanical problem with the lens.

The model name and serial number are located on the sticker attached to the bottom of the camera.

From 17th July 2008 to 16th July 2011

* Please make a backup of your camera’s internal memory data prior to sending it to Sony service center in case recorded data is lost during its repair.

My Green Sony Cybershot is vibrating and has happened just last night. So they won't be doing any free repairs in August 2011 and so forth?
I am very disappointed as I dont want to buy a new camera. I can't take photos cause of the vibration and makes loud sounds like its going to blow up or something.
