This can't be right. At 200mm, an aperture of f/2.8 would be equal to a 71.4mm opening - but the lens is only 62mm across.

...Equivalent focal length, remember? You need to take into account the sensor size.

I think this will be a really attractive prospect for many photographers. When I think about what cameras I most enjoy using, it's those that offer the greatest amount of creative control, whether that's depth of field, telephoto compression, burst mode sequence.

All these elements are at your fingertips with this camera. Ok, depth of field play would probably only become available at 100mm, but then that's a good portrait length anyway.

I will get this camera as it will replace two cameras I use as a news reporter, Panasonic FZ150 zoom and a Canon G1X. These have replaced my DSLRs as they shoot silently. It will, however, have to come way down in price. At $1,300, the RX10 is seriously overpriced.
