The Local High Street

After over a month of posting Tenerife photos (I still have a couple of days worth to sort through yet), I’ve returned home with these shots of my local high street. It’s amazing what you can find just yards away from where you live, if you put your mind to it. An hour of walking up one side and down the other produced some good (if not particularly noteworthy) pictures, although the grey overcast sky didn’t really help.

I notice the betting shop is prominently featured!
High Streets provide some fine images, though I find the focusing in on detail works best.

Hi Mark, I've got a stupid question for ya: What's a "high street"? I've heard this expression before but never knew what it meant. There this Dire Straits song that starts out with the lyrics, "Belladonna's on the high street..."

Just the local main road with all the shops along it
I've no idea why it's the high street as opposed to the low street! (although I'm sure there is a reason).
