Tokina Introduces Digital 12-24mm Lens
The Hungarian website Index Digicam seem to have the scoop on a new wide-angle digital lens from the budget manufactuer Tokina. The Tokina AT-X 124Pro DX 12-24mm/F4, to give it it’s full name, has a fixed f/4 aperture and is APS-C sized for 1.6x digital SLRs. It will be available in a Nikon fit in November and Canon in December.

Not really a scoop, it was already at photokina, and at PMA there was a mockup shown already.
Here is the press release:

and here are some (bad) images taken by me with the tokina:

interesting to note is that tokina also had a 100mm f/2.8 macro and a very nice 17-45mm f/4 DX prototype .. but according to the guy at the booth (and reps from THKphoto.com), those are by far not sure to be ever released.. let's hope so, I'm a big tokina fan..
the 12-24mm is very good.. they told me it would be about €500, but in the press release at the japanese site, it's more like €650..

After alot of reading, I decided to get this lens, price is right with the yen increase recently, using it on my 20D, but was wondering how it would work on my EOS IXE, a long-shot to get a reply on this, but, maybe, just maybe...Also, anyone using the lens/20D with opinions? Happy to hear from you, Thanks... Semper Fi
