The Lowepro Flipside Sport 20L AW photo backpack, which launched last week in the US, is now available in the UK. The lightweight and breathable bag fits 2 pro SLR cameras with integrated grips (one with attached 300mm f/2.8 lens, 2 extra lenses and a flash, a tablet or laptop, tripod or monopod,, a battery charger and other accessories plus trekking poles and other personal gear. The Flipside Sport 20L AW carries a recommended retail price of £145.

THE NEW FLIPSLIDE SPORT 20L FROM LOWEPRO

Following the award winning success of its Flipside Sport AW series – Lowepro has announced a new large 20L capacity version of this technical and lightweight daypack.  The Flipside Sport 20L offers active outdoor and sports photographers quick and easy access to their gear when they are on the move. The new larger capacity is perfect for those needing to carry a wider selection of kit and accessories.

The compact, low-profile shape of the Flipside Sport 20L AW has been designed to be easily carried and maneuvered, making it ideal for professional sports, adventure and outdoor photographers.

The new larger capacity Flipside Sport will carry a Pro DSLR with grip and attached 300 mm f/2.8 lens, 2nd pro body with grip, 2 extra lenses and a flash plus other accessories – including tablet and personal gear, plus has an attachment for tripod or monopod.

Further outdoor-friendly features include lashes for trekking poles/ice axe, a zip pocket inside the back panel, multiple adjustment points for a custom fit at the shoulders, chest and waist, plus Lowepro’s patented built-in All Weather AW Cover™ to protect gear from the elements.  Made from resilient, high-performance 210D triple-ripstop nylon with PU coating for improved durability, the pack is perfect for rugged conditions whether on the sideline or mountain top.

Added comfort and convenience comes in the shape of a hydration-ready side pocket with space for a 1-litre reservoir (not included) and easy-to-reach port for a sip tube. Perforated, breathable padding with air channels is strategically placed on the back and on the shoulder straps to provide comfort and moisture wicking properties for these area.

The unique, body-side access design provides an easy and secure way to get to your gear without having to remove the pack. Access is gained by unclipping the cross-chest strap buckle, removing one shoulder strap, rotating to the front before unzipping. The pack is then able to be used as a convenient and stable platform.

To create even more flexibility for outdoor photographers, the Flipside Sport 20L has also been created with a removable camera compartment. The classic Lowepro adjustable and padded divider system can be removed, to convert the bag into a fully functional daypack.

I really dislike Lowepro, when I was doing research for my blog on good camera bags, Lowepro wouldn't reply to any of my emails or requests for information, concerned me, if they couldn't respond even with a "we don't do that" which is what Tamrac did, but gave me some guidance, how on earth could I trust Lowepro if I had a real issue. Customer service is still so important.
