Peter Wallis is the very lucky winner of a fantastic Olympus XZ-1 premium compact camera, worth £399.99 / $499.99.

Thanks to everyone who took part and stay tuned for another great giveaway very soon…

This contest closed at 12 midday GMT on Monday 21st March 2011.

Shooting wide open with a fast lens was becoming a luxury in the digital age. The fortunate few can afford super fast pro lenses on SLR’s whilst only the dedicated search out old prime optics and adapters for their systems. Now the beauty of F1.8 is available on a compact from a classic photography brand that really knows about optics. It boasts a larger than average sensor and a lens that delivers edge to edge sharpness even wide open, providing opportunities for depth of field control only previously dreamt about. So confident are Olympus about the edge sharpness that the XZ-1 shoots near maximum aperture even on auto settings which is more than can be said for many system cameras that default to smaller apertures sacrificing any chance of that wonderful bokeh. Don’t believe the hype? Check out our Olympus XZ-1 review.

Due to an even better than expected reaction to the Olympus XZ-1, they are in very short supply, so here is you chance to get you hands on one of the few available - absolutely free!

Hope I shall win :) I want to test this machine so much. Quality from the samples seems so satisfying. I know that this machine will come approximately one year later to my country. Than I will become older. :/

I've never owned an Olympus camera, and think this would be an interesting introduction to the company's products, which I otherwise may never get around to trying since I have my favorite brands.
Thanks Olympus & PB !!

A couple of years ago I owned an Olympus SP550 Ultrazoom camera. It wasn't a great camera (it was very slow at gaining its' focus) but I took some terrific shots with it. I loved the SLR feel, the layout of the controls, the sturdiness, and of course the impressive focal length of that little camera, so I know from experience Olympus takes photography seriously. I'd be proud to win this camera, and I would love to put it through its paces.

I voted for it, lets see if I win, everybody wants to win, but ultimately few people get the chance to win it. I am not sure if I am lucky, I already voted for few others products and given some simple answers!!! But no luck, hope this time the jinx would be broken, bye the way thanks PB for introducing new themes to keep us motivated and give reason to come and visit PB regularly.

My very first SLR was an Olympus OM2N, which has now been retired after almost 25 years of constant use. Time to move into the digital age and the XZ-1 may well be the ideal solution.

I think it is about time my old Olympus C760 Ultra Zoom was replaced. Even though it is only 3megapixel, A4 prints are very clear, so this modern 10 megapixel camera will be brilliant.

Too bad this contest already ended. By the way, I am also an Olympus fe-26 user. It is a very cheap camera and I have always love Olympus since the time I bough it myself. You can check out the photos I have taken here at Fotografi Rox. No need to enhance your pictures using Adobe Photoshop because Olympus camera takes beautiful and natural snapshots.
