Winter in Closeup

In an effort to stem the flow of Consumer Electronics Show news, here are 3 photos taken at the end of 2003 in my girlfriend’s parent’s backgarden. Proof that you don’t need to venture far to find something to photograph, especially when you’re armed with a macro lens.

very nice
a critique if i may (and this is all in my VERY humble opinion)
i like the first one with the bg stem behind the front stem cloned out. the shape of the two buds together look great!
in the second one I feel that the bright are to the right of the rose overpowers the flower. burning that area a bit makes the bud the focus.
as i said, pinch of salt etc......

No, no, no, you've got it all wrong Mad@TT! There's no snow in winter, just rain, darkness and the occassional frosty day
Walter - these shots were taken with the Canon EOS 10D and Canon 100mm USM f/2.8 macro lens, all handheld (although I should really have used a tripod...).
Cheers Bill!
Marc - Grrrr! Now you've pointed out that highlight, I can't stop looking at it! I'll have a go at editing it in Photoshop tonight and post the hopefully improved version.
