The ioSafe Solo is a fireproof waterproof external hard drive. Starting at $149 USD with capacities from 500 GB to 1.5 TB, the ioSafe Solo represents a great value when protecting your most precious digital photos, videos or critical business data.

This drive operates like any other desktop USB hard drive and can be used as a backup target to protect against accidental deletion and primary hard drive failure. The ioSafe Solo protects against data loss even when immersed in fresh or salt water in 10 feet of water for up to 3 days.

A trio of technologies are used to balance normal cooling with fire and water protection. FloSafe vent technology allows for cooling airflow during normal operation. In a fire, the FloSafe vents automatically block damaging heat from penetrating the interior cavity. DataCast technology uses embedded water to vaporize and cool the drive in a fire. HydroSafe technology surrounds the interior drive with a heat conductive waterproof barrier. Heat is allowed to dissipate during operation yet the data is protected even when completely immersed in saltwater. The ioSafe Solo is also designed to be bolted to the floor or chained down for theft.

The ioSafe Solo comes standard with a 3 year manufacture's warranty and a 1 year Data Recovery Service (DRS). Both the warranty and DRS can be upgraded to 5 years if desired for $99 USD. The DRS is a one time, no-questions ask policy that the registered owner of the ioSafe Solo can utilize in case of any potential data disaster such as hard drive failure, accidental deletion, fires or floods. ioSafe will assist the owner with data recovery and even pay up to $1000 for third party forensic recovery if required to recover the data.
