We spent some time yesterday shooting with the new Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* E 24mm f/1.8 ZA lens for the NEX camera system. Here are 21 sample photos taken with the Sony NEX-5N camera and the Carl Zeiss 24mm E-mount lens.

This lens looks very interesting and, subject to more reviews and tests, would appear to be the ideal mate for the new Sony NEX-7. I’m very tempted… BUT will there be a Leica X2 coming soon??? It’s so difficult in this fast moving environment to know when to jump in and buy….

Yes, a really good piece of glass, indeed.
got mine today and fell in love shot by shot.
at ISO200 and f1.7 - f2.2 you can do wonderful clear and colorful night shots and warm and crisp indoors. with 1/15sec it is not easy to shoot freehand, but with a rest somewhere…beautiful.

Simply , a Truly Wonderful Lens for the Sony NEX Series ! Crisp Images , and a Joy to Use ! Expensive , but it is a Zeiss Lens , and says it All !

This lens is sharp even more when focus manually. I used it to take group and wide portrait and the faces are in HD. It’s almost ‘offensive’ to use it for portraiture because it could show all the flaws of someone’s face.
