The Carl Zeiss Touit Distagon 2.8/12mm T* is an 18mm equivalent ultra-wide angle lens for Sony NEX and Fujifilm X-series compact system cameras.

We spent a couple of hours shooting with both new Touit lenses and the Fujifilm X-Pro1 camera at Carl Zeiss' UK headquarters (admittedly not the most photogenic of locations) to bring you a gallery of full-size sample images, including the full aperture range.

We've also got a final production Carl Zeiss Touit Distagon 2.8/12mm T* lens in for a full review, so watch this space...

The Carl Zeiss Touit Distagon 2.8/12mm T* will cost around £950 in the UK and will be available from Saturday June 1st.

A gallery of 46 full-size sample images from the Carl Zeiss Touit Distagon 2.8/12mm T* lens.

I would not pay 950pounds for uwa lens when I would still have distortion out of center of frame…

if it is “natural” for uwa ... then I would rather use standard lens and avoid using uwa at all.

Name a fast 18mm full frame lens that has no distortion and one can buy for 950 pounds?

Not using UWA it is then, cause every UWA has distortion. For 12mm its pretty good. 2,5% barrel isnt that much, considering its for APS-C. If its just regular barrel and not with some sub-frequency, then its even fixable for price of bit of detail.

Its not for architectural photos and if you keep horizont at center, its usually not much visible. Like its case with most UWAs that have just regular distortion (even weak fisheyes).
