Best IQ of any Point and Shoot id say. 800 iso test shot looks great! Excellent selection of pics by Photography Blog.

Sharpness at low ISO is very poor. Apparently the antialasing filter is too strong. Fuifilm repeated mistake Olympus have done with XZ-1 Camera. Fast zoom granted possibility shot with low ISO where other cameras need high ISO. But ... lost hopes one time more.

Why do Fuji cameras continue to produce such hideously artificial colours? Everything looks like it was carefully crafted in a plastic toy factory. dj - if you think the IQ is good, I think it’s time you got new glasses.

the video sure looks weird. Strange pulsing in the light on the bridge, really artificial looking chroma and jagged edges like it was captured at 1080i60 and pulled down to 1080p30. Images are great for a P&S though. Still, $500 is a lot. I suspect this will mostly sell on fashion.

@william.
It all depend on what settings you use; which unlike other cameras can make massive differences. Truthfully these are no worse than any other camera around its price-point, I’d suggest getting a batter monitor or stop looking at these on crappy laptop screens.

All pics with EV 0.00 and lots with burning highlights? Do you know how the EV-Button is for? And do you how to lower the noise reduction? It is far to high in the pics, esp. at the low iso pics! As a tester you should try some different setting to optimize the output of such a great camera, otherwise you might get poor-mobile-cam-results. ;)

Why does everyone judge camera performance based on a JPEG? If you know what you’re doing, you’re shooting RAW to begin with and you know what your limits are in post to optimize an image.

Why does everyone jump to judge camera performance based on JPEGs? If you know what you’re doing then only RAW files will demonstrate what you can do in post for output.

Colors look just fine to me. Maybe something’s wrong with your drab perception of the world.
