Ahead of our full review, here are 50 sample JPEG and 9 RAW photos taken with the new Nikon Coolpix A compact camera.
We've included both an ISO sequence from 100 to 25,600 and an aperture sequence from f/2.8 to f/22 so that you can see exactly what the 16.2 megapixel sensor and 28mm f/2.8 lens are capable of.
A gallery of full size JPEG and RAW images taken with the Nikon Coolpix A.

The IQ of this camera is excellent, but you guys did a huge diservice to it by not at least waiting for better weather. No camera could look good in such ugly weather. Poor quality gallery compared to the X100s, because of the weather.

We’re shooting in Scotland for just 2 days, and unfortunately we can’t control the weather :)
We’ll be adding some more Nikon Coolpix A sample images this week, hopefully shot in brighter conditions…

You guys must have a very narrow selection of photos if you only shoot in sunshine. All cameras can do fine in sunshine the interest comes in how they handle more difficult lighting.

I like pics on the beach! And if someone is interested this is my HDR from a single RAW:

It’s noisy cuz of Imageshack compression.

@ AngryCorgi, you missing the point. I wanted to present how much data we can take from RAW file of this camera. My HDR is raw and unfinished and it’s no good at all. I’m just impressed with quality of Coolpix A RAW files. After all this is a compact camera.
You can see my HDR works here:

Bad weather photos are good to examine the quality of a camera. When you develop the RAW files you see that the lens is really good.

The internal shot of the sugar and beef burger and chips look totally out of focus and not at all clear, only the text seems reasonable, Think he V2 performs much better!

I wonder why all photos are taken with f8 or f11 and only one with 2,8 (the burger).
Is there a problem with f2,8?
