This camera is making me want to cancel my M240 order. It looks excellent. Perfect pocket camera? I think so

You can easily forget about the 240M.This is beyond on what Germans can do.Built like a tank for less than 1000$ with image quality that no other camera can match, not even Hasselblad.

I ordered a GR just this morning. Sold out everywhere and not expecting delivery for a couple of weeks at least. Ricoh have a hit on their hands I think!

The 6400 Iso pic of the costa cafe is stunning. This shoot as a great benchmark.
So many cameras at this setting are good but fail with shadow noise. This camera along with my Fuji XE1 excel in this department.

I have had a Leica M240 for almost two months, in that time I have had in in may hands for less than a week, the rest of the time it has been going between me and Leica. The Leica was a dream camera, I payed a lot and expected a lot. While waiting for Leica to I picked up the Ricoh GR out of curiosity, as just something to play with. It didn’t cost a lot and I got a lot more than I expected. It is extraordinary, unlike the Leica it doesn’t try to do everything but what it does it does very well. Compared to my M240 it is, quieter, smaller, more discrete, more customisable and most importantly, more reliable. There are a couple of improvements I would like to see hopefully in a firmware update, 100% view from RAWS, Face detection in all exposure modes and manual control in video. As it is now, it is a phenomenal compact camera easily capable of extraordinary shots, a pleasure to use and worth every penny.
I will be definitely be keeping the Ricoh, I am seriously considering getting rid of the Leica. I have some street photography shots from some walks around town I have taken with the GR on my site.
