Was noise reduction on or off?

Really bad motives for ISO comparison. It is not possible to recognize the differences properly.

Do they offer ISO increment of 1/3 and or 1/2?

Good camera but VERY bad photographer…almost every pic is underexposed, bad composition etc.

Sorry guys but these must be the worst sample images out there. I can understand that you are under time pressure but you have done Sony very bad PR by publishing these shots. Noise reduction is awful, NR smearing even a mobile phone would have almost done better.

Sorry guys, but these images are terrible. A great camera doesn´t make a good photographer, knowing how to use it is the key! Wait for other samples…..

To be fair - shooting a 55mm lens at 1/60sec with a 36MP sensor is a nightmare for pixel peeping. 1/250sec at least to be safe.

And underexposed images are great - they bring out the worst in sensors as the textures and colors fall apart a little in the shadows (looking at you, Canon)

This said, focus and shake are not too bad in some of these - I detect pretty aggressive noise reduction, but at any reasonable resolution there will be plenty of detail and texture in the files.

Do you even know how to use a camera? Why did Sony even let you touch it?

Camera can go to any hand who is not necessary to be a photographer. But this is the result you get…. there is also portrait, landscape, macro themes covered. its matter of what you want to see, best scenario or worst case scenario..?! In a controlled studio environment, even 10MP camera can do better job. “Compact” could be convenient but doesn’t mean shoot anything will be nicer. keep going on to shoot more samples… there are lots of different target customers around… we decide what samples suitable for us and also what camera can do with different hands….!!

Those pictures… is this a joke? Ok, the bad weather is not the photographers fault but those portraits and flower pictures… are you serious?

I have yet to see a sharp picture from this beast. I know everyone is now a street photographer but I am not. I’m gonna haul this puppy way out into the bush and take landscapes.

Can someone please put it on a tripod. With this much resolution pretty well all the hand held shots will be less than sharp.

This images look like those take by a mobile phone. What is going on?! Noise reduction is horrible. But how much noise was there in the first place?! A lot it seems.

This is by far much worse than most of point and shoot cameras made today.

Right…why would Sony let you get a hold of one of these?  How embarrassing.
