Motion Detection Technology detects movement in the shooting scene and camera shake. The optimal ISO level is then automatically set, to minimise blur and maximise image quality.

It seems to be a nice camera but what is if you compare it to the ixus 95?
I heard in programm mode using Auto Iso it chooses very high Iso. Is that just while not using the flash or always and is it a big problem (for a pointandshoot camera)

A very nice little camera, but a very poor ‘manual’- no index, no pictures of the icons, with explanation, on one page, so as a result, in order to learn what each one means, I have to trawl through every page until I find it.(I still haven’t found instruction on the self-timer). I’m just lucky to have a photgrapher husband.  Please, Canon, ask your manual designer to give it to a non-photographic person to vet before you publish!

Hi
I recently purchased the IXUS130. The camera is very compact (Allmost the size of a bar style mobile phone), handy and takes great pictures. The only problem I see is the date and time imprint. I personally dont like the size and color and the location of it. I am not sure if you all have had similar experiences. The character size is too big, the color is too flashy, I personally prefer a white. The imprint is way away from the edges, so most of the time it is very close to the subject.
Is there a way to change this. Change the character size to a smaller one, change the color to while and change the loaction to a corner of your choice and closer to the edges ? If you know ways to do it, please let me know.
Thanks
Sujay

Hi,

I’d like to ask whether this camera is good on low light conditions/indoor/nightime photography? the last time i bought a canon the pictures were bad…

Thanks!

Hi Eileen

Pictures on AUTO in night/indoors/low light dont come very well. Indoor pictures under candecent bulb light turn out too yellowish. However the same scene with program mode have a totally different effect and pictures do come good.
I would suggest to use the various program modes when shooding in low light/night/indoors.

Cheers!

Hi Sujay,
Thanks for answering!
While shooting in low light conditions, should I be using a higher ISO? would that create a lot of noise?

Hi Dew,
I agree with Sujay, this camera doesn’t come good in low light under Auto Mode. I have yet to buy this camera but i used one similar to this and the results are not very good either.

Leo > I have noticed th blue line while recording against bright light, but when you play back the video the line does not appear. Can you confirm this ?

Dew > I love the video quality on the 130 and also the day time stills. I am happy with the clarity and quality. Woudn’t you agree Eileen ?

Night time requires some hands on and should be used in P mode not Auto for better results.

I recieved this camera for Christmas 2010. I love it!! It alows me to take great pictures and videos. The only thing I can not do is change the colors of the pictures to negatives and stuff like that like I could with other digital cameras. Other than that, I love it and I am so very happy I have it!!!
