I am in the market for getting a cheap camera for using on Holiday. This one looks good to me but, i don’t like the idea of being stuck with a fixed 25mm lens.

Can you suggest a similar priced camera with a 18mm lens?

I’ll gather a few extra bucks and buy the Japanese made Canon SX270HS. If you care about your equipment never buy Chinese.

@Steve Could you clarify a bit? This camera doesn’t have a fixed 25mm lens, but a (135 equivalent) 25-350mm. A compact with an 18mm equivalent doesn’t exist.

As a professional wedding photographer in Harrisburg,Pa, I obviously don’t use this for my business, but I love this camera as a small, personal quick shot camera!

Looing for a small pint and shoot for taking on fishing trips.  This looks like it will fit the bill with the extended zoom it should open doors that regular point and shoots can’t while on the river.

I recently bought this camera as a factory refurbished unit from Adorama for a very reasonable price. It turned out to be a brand new camera when I received it. I’ve only taken a few shots with it indoors in very low light. I was not very pleased with the results and that may have been due to user error since I wasn’t familiar with the camera so I don’t know how well it shoots in different conditions. It looks and feels great. I bought this camera as a small point and shoot to carry when I don’t want to carry my larger DSLR(Nikon D7000). My previous p&s camera was a Coolpix S6200 which was a great little camera. I sold it and bought the L610 because I thought it would be an upgrade. I hope I made a good decision

I own this camera, in all it takes very good photographs but sometimes it hangs. A pair batteries that came with it are enough to take photos around 200.
