Bought this camera about 2 weeks ago and have given it a good test. Have to say ni’m very impressed with the quality of the images even at max zoom. Easy to use and focus is excellent. A little slow in bad light but got there and took good shot. functions are easily accessable and software supplied for transfer and storage is good. I miss a view finder a little as screen goes off when shot is being taken, that said screen is 3” and very clear. Overall it’s a super little camera that gives excellent images and clips and a really cheap price. But it u won’t be dissapointed.

If you have a bit more money it would be better to invest in Canon PowerShot SX220 HS: better image quality and video features make it hard to dismiss. The downside would be the lack of 24mm wide angle and being ‘limited’ to the 392mm in telephoto end (in 35mm equivalent)
Problem with SX220 HS is that it is not sold worldwide :/ The more expensive SX230 HS is, however it has only the GPS tagging as an extra.
Like the score points out, the best thing on this camera is really the price, hard to beat for a 18x zoom lens compact camera.

bought this camera from internet. Very good and so many things to play with, shame about the 3D mode because unless you have a 3D viewer of some kind its pretty pointless taking photos as the screen is 2D but apart from that it is really very good for the money and the zoom is great. I could not afford a really expensive camera so this is very practical for photographing my son and the wildlife. well worth buying for the amateur like myself.9/10

Image stabilisation while recording video is not very good.

This camera’s best features is its 18x zoom range in such a compact body. Outdoor shots on sunny days are very, very good. Indoor shots are rather bad. Indoor shots of people, with flash on (or off), are horrible. This camera is best used outdoors and for travel and nature.

I bought this camera from another place and I got it for $160 on Sale last week. I got the silver color. I LOVE THIS CAMERA! It has so many cool features. I didn’t think about the 3D only being able to be used on 3D TV’s so yes it’s no use if you don’t have a 3D TV. But the camera is well worth the money. Comes with a charger and rechargeable battery. THe zoom is AWESOME!! And the “Magic” section is cool

Easy to use but was concerned as the zoom lens made a rattling noise. I took it back to the shop but the other same model also made a noise so it seems a general fault. I used the camera for 5 days, found it very ergonomic and stylish, but images seemed rather washed out or dark using the auto function. Any other functions were hard to locate and would take too long to reach. The high pixels gave a very clear image, and video recording has good sound. Overall very easy to use with Ok images. You need to be careful to recharge batteries and you need to buy a high speed memory card apart. I decided to return the camera as wasn´t really convinced by the image quality and the delicacy of the zoom lens scared me as I wanted a more robust camera

I have an older Olympus point-and-shoot, the FE100, and I have to concur that this brand is sadly lacking for night shots in their lower end cameras. I was hoping the newer models would improve in this area, but it appears that Canon remains the gold standard in night photography for amateurs. One comment about the inability to record sound while zooming - Olympus is trying to do the consumer a favor by not having to edit out the sound of the motor from their video, so rather than be frustrated, maybe it’s better to thank them!

This camera- in my opinion- seems to have missed a trick here.
The lens/aperture range shows great potential- but the omission of manual/semi-auto modes spoils this- as does heavy noise reduction- even at base iso.
So- include manual options and RAW (or better processing) and we have a good-un…

Love the Camera. Only disapointment not too good in clair-obscur condition; pity we have some fantastic winter evening’s lights aroud here sometimes… But besides that: I love that camera.

My main use is for taking pictures of houses to be appraised. Got the cam on close out for $129—-a great price for the optical zoom, which I need for house numbers from out in the street. Very impressed—-noticed a tiny chatter from the lens. The cam is very light and easy to handle but its NOT for dark conditions. It takes a a long time from when you push the button. It has to first use its front red light then focus, then snap and by that time many subjects have moved. Pic quality using flash or in low light w no flash is disappointing! If not foe the sale price and my main use being outdoor zooming, I wouldnt keep this cam.

Camera that is not useful in low light situations, is same as car that can not be driven at night, because it does not have the lights.
Camera should be able to capture what eye can see. And more. With old, pre-digital era cameras, it was always possible, even with cheapest ones.

Time after time of disappointment from pics that wasnt good I figured it was the camera instead of me. Just disappointed with it. Luved the zoom. Seemed it done better outside with most pics. wished I had bought something else.

I bought this camera to replace my aging Canon A720. I’m still using the A720 because the Olympus just doesn’t measure up. The colours aren’t as vibrant and the photos not as crisp and clear. A big disappointment. The tech people were excellent and quick to answer my concerns, but didn’t solve the basic problem, that the camera just isn’t that good.
