With an experienced Photoshop user, any blemishes or artefacts can be processed-away (mostly). Needs quite accurate white-balance calibration as it has a little work to do against a slight cast from the optics. Otherwise, a bargain lens that can produce great results once you get used to ironing-out its shortcomings. It took me 3 lenses before I found one that did not stick whilst zooming, so be sure to try this out in-shop before you leave.

Great quality prints at good price/print (onetime was cheapest quality colour printer/print). Easy to set up and use, and because each new cartridge holds a new print-head, no clogging yet (touch wood!).

I may be lazy, but I find that I use this lens almost all of the time, allied with a 10Mp CCD sensor on my Canon 400D, and then cropping via Photoshop, has produced some amazing results. Free transform can correct many of the barrel/pinhead distortions that can occur. It requires a massive polarising filter, and the ringflash fitting is a monster as well. However, very satisfying overall. Gets envious stares each time I use it!

I love this camera. For the two years i have had it, i've had no problems with it. The only thing I have found somewhat limiting in my time with the camera is the buffer. When shooting wildlife action shots in RAW, it fills up quite quickly. Of course, this is simply corrected by shooting JPEG.
The camera is meant for experienced amateurs, not semi-pros like the d200 or d300 and therefore lacks some of their functionality and has more limited specs but is still well feature laden. One of the things i've found particularly useful is being able to trigger a remote flash wirelessly using the built-in speedlight. The DOF preview is also very useful as well as a bunch of other features... even slightly lower end cameras such as the d50 don't have this functionality.
Anybody with some experience with photography who would like a reasonably priced SLR (especially now... the price has dropped quite a bit in the past two years especially for used ones!) with great features will love this camera.

I've had this camera for a few years now and love it, BUT I have discovered that I cannot do long exposures needed for most night photography.
The maximum built-in exposure time is 8 seconds, far too little for most night photography. It's a great camera if you don't want to do time exposures but a big disappointment if you do.

The camera is mostly metal rather than plastic and has a two tone silver and black markings. It's built like a tank & beautiful to behold. (However, some photographers prefer the less flashy solid black color of the Panasonic DMC-LC1 twin and roll their eyes at the Digilux 2's attempt to imitate the look of the classic "Leica Rangefinder" camera.

I love the weight, I love the film size and I love the fact that this camera is allowing me to get back to thinking about how I photograph instead of shooting from the hip and looking at my view finder. I love digital, but this is so much more fun. I have 2 other medium format camera's, this actually is the easiest to use.

Camera performance is superb: just flip the power switch and the D50 is ready to go. The camera focuses quickly and takes pictures without any noticeable shutter lag. Autofocus speeds were impressive, even in low light. While battery life isn't as good as the D70s, it's still excellent (and you can buy a higher capacity battery if you need to). Transferring photos is actually faster on the "cheap model" because it supports USB 2.0 High Speed, unlike the D70s.

Great pinter... if you can find one anymore!
In the past I always went with Epson. But the last Epson I had was junk so thought I'd try Canon. What a great machine the ip 5000 is. I print QSL cards on it using a thicker stock and they look great. Day-to-day printing is good as well. The price per printed page is very low as the ink is about the cheapest of any out there. I like that it has both a cassette feed for quick printing and a auto top feeder for other types of stock such as photo paper. It prints boarder-less and not all printers will do that, it looks great! It was easy to share with both my desktop and our laptop. Ever once in a while I hve to run the head alignment utility and the head cleaning utility but that puts it right back like new. The initial cost was cheap as well, so what's not to like??
