Great little camera. Technology has lept so much since my last digital camera purchase in 2006. I have no regrets with my purchase.

Hi, I hope you can help. Just got this camera and I’m confused about the watercolour feature/mode. I been taking lots of test images, and some appear to have had the watercolour effect applied to them. This is especially obvious when I zoom in! I have the effects set to off, but in all modes there is sometimes the watercolour icon on the screen prior to taking a picture. This doesn’t, always happen, and the images where it hasn’t been applied are pin sharp when zoomed in. Please help, I want this watercolour effect to stop!

I bought the camera about 18 months ago and have really enjoyed using it.
After it was now lying in the cupboard for about a month,it has suddenly developed a fault with the picture in the monitor ‘jumping’ when I am trying to take a shot.It is also make a clicking noise in the camera, that sounds as if something is stuck and it can’t move on.
The resulting pictures when I download them to my laptop are however fine.
Anyone with similar experiences ?
Any advice on what can be done ?
Many thanks and greetings from sunny Namibia

I’m choosing between the canon sx260 the lumix tz40 and the sony. I think i have decided on the lumix because i can’t find an older model of the sony in store and the newer ones (like HX60) are out of my price range. However I have heard stories about people getting only blurred photos and such from the intelligent auto mode on the lumix… is this true? Also I’m new to cameras so would I have probems with this?
