Toshiba has launched a 16GB microSDHC card offering the largest capacity available in the market. Toshiba has also added ultra fast read/write 8GB and 16GB SDHC cards to its line-up. Mass production of the new SDHC cards will start in December, with production of the new microSDHC slated to start in January 2009.

Canon has warned that the $40 billion digital camera market could shrink in 2009, according to a report by Reuters. Sales of DSLR cameras have been affected by the global economic slump, although Canon has maintained its estimate for SLR sales to rise 38 percent to 4.4 million units in 2008. Canon’s Tsuneji Uchida commented “We hope we will see the same level of demand next year as this year. Whether or not that will become reality is up to economic conditions.”

Adobe Camera Raw 5.2 adds RAW file support for seven camera models, including the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Panasonic DMC LX3. It also introduces the new Targeted Adjustment Tool for on-image refinements and output sharpening for print or screen output, and the ability to create a snapshot of all adjustments made to an image as a bookmark for future reference. The Photoshop Camera Raw 5.2 plug-in is available as a free download for existing customers of Photoshop CS4, Photoshop Elements 7, and Premiere Elements 7.
