Bibble Pro 5.0.1

The Places We Live Exhibition

Magnum photojournalist Jonas Bendiksen’s exhibition, The Places We Live, recreates the living rooms of 20 families from the slums of Jakarta, Mumbai, Nairobi, and Caracas. By taking a photograph of each of the four walls of a room inside people’s homes and using the resulting large-format prints to build 3-D, life-size replicas of the rooms, Bendiksen creates for viewers a virtual experience of visiting the families.

Travel the World with Neovoyage

Jalbum Comes to a Browser Near You

Jalbum have launched a browser-based version of their web photo album desktop application. The new version requires no download or installation of software and includes 90 designs in the initial launch. Jalbum have also partnered with with photo editing site Pixlr.com to provide easy editing within the new browser app.

Graphis Photography Annual 2010 Winners

The winners of the Graphis Photography Annual 2010 awards have been announced. Graphis is internationally recognized as the premier publication covering graphic communications worldwide. Photographers Maikka Trupp, Heinz Baumann, Dazeley, and Andrew Zuckerman all used 33 MP Leaf digital backs to create their winning entries. Fastbind Showing Photo Album Solutions at PMA

Fastbind will be showcasing all of its photo products at PMA 2010 in Anaheim. Known for its binders and photo album machines, Fastbind now has products that allow both professional and amateur photographers to turn their photos into personalised custom albums. These offerings include the Fastbind FotoMount F32 and F46 photobook makers, and the Booxter Binder. The F32 allows anyone to quickly begin making elegant 180 degree layflat albums up to 12”x12”. The F46 has been announced to satisfy the need for books larger than 12”x12” and up to 18”x18”. Finally, the Booxter Binder is a performance-packed stapling station that not only addresses the quick low-end album market but the high-end presentation market as well. Apple iPad

The Apple iPad is a new, multi-touch device marketed as “an extraordinary way to enjoy and share your photos”. Featuring a 9.7-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, the Apple iPad boasts 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132ppi, and comes with 16, 32 or 64GB of built-in storage capacity. The Photos app displays the photos in an album as though they were in a stack. Just tap the stack, and the whole album opens up. From there, you can flip through your pictures, zoom in or out, or watch a slideshow. You can even import photographs directly from your camera using the optional Apple Camera Connection Kit. Apart from displaying your photos, the Apple iPad can also be used to surf the Web, read and write e-mails, watch videos, access the AppStore, download and listen to music, buy and read books, and more. Measuring 9.56x7.47x0.50 inches, the Apple iPad is available from $499.

Panasonic Prices Cameras Announced at CES

As you may recall, Panasonic announced a number of cameras at CES, but has not disclosed any prices - until now. The LUMIX FH1 will be available for a suggested retail price of $159.95, the LUMIX FH3 for $179.95 and the LUMIX FH20 (pictured) for $199.95. These are slim, pocketable models that pack a 28mm wide-angle lens with up to 8x optical zoom (FH20) and image stabilisation, along with HD movie recording. The ultra-slim FP1 will be available for $149.95, while the similar FP3 that boasts a 3” touch-screen will retail for $229.95. Finally, the entry-level DMC-F3 will cost $129.95.

ColoRotate

ColoRotate is a 3D colour picker and editor plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS4, which aligns with the way our minds process colour. “Some of the features that make ColoRotate especially appealing are new ways to view and edit foreground and background colors in 3D, fine-tuning with joysticks and sliders, and saving and sharing palettes,” says ColoRotate developer Michael Douma.
