Registration for the WPPI 2012 convention and trade show is now open. WPPI is the biggest show in the world for wedding and portrait photographers and takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV, from February 16-23, 2012.

Mister Retro has released its latest Photoshop plug-in, Retrographer, which allows users to apply a variety of retro/vintage photography effects to their photographs. Developed by Brian J. Bonislawski and Maxim Victorovich Chernusov, Retrographer features over 15 lens, flash, film, lab, and special effects, and more than 1100 preset “camera settings”. Capta from Texas-based Unique Design is a hybrid camera phone accessory that acts as a tripod mount, phone stand and cable management system. The patent-pending device allows you to mount any smartphone on a standard tripod with a 1/4-20 stud and pop it up at any angle for portrait or landscape oriented shots. Capta is constructed of an aluminium base plate and a proprietary adhesive pad. This proprietary pad allows Capta to hold smartphones securely at any angle for extended periods of time and leaves no residue. The design also incorporates a cable groove for cable management and a threaded hole for attachment to a tripod.
