There is nothing new with this camera. This camera was available already when Fotoman Camera was an alive company as Fotoman Camera, a JV between Charlie Chun and an American and Canadian. See http://www.fotomancamera.com/product_list.asp?id=168
Click 'Home' to read that they ceased production in April 2009!
Having met Charlie multiple times in Shenzhen the other year, all he had of this camera is old stock.
I could tell more... but suggest to remove this announcement from new products. It is false and complete misleading to announce as new product.

Hm - thanks for the info. Given that this is a recent press release sourced from the official Photokina 2012 website, we have decided not to remove it, but changed the wording in the introduction to make it clear that this is a re-announcement of an older product. Once again, thanks for drawing our attention to this!

What is the re-announcement???
They have been selling it worldwide from the China fraction in Shenzhen ever since the ceasing of Fotoman Camera (Hong Kong), thus since the American and Canadian "ceased the fabrication". Care to be that this 624 is from the old stock??? It looks 100% same as old stock.
If you email me I can tell you more...

I have been to photokina, talked to the guys from fotoman (Charlie Chu, Steven Clere, Kim Anouche) and had a close look at their cameras, especially the 624. I own a 624 of the old type for about 3 years now. the "new" 624 has some minor changes and improvements. it is no new new camera, but it is no old stock either. show me a 624 and I'll tell you if it's an old one or one of the new series. the problem of anders_hk may be, that fotoman.cc show an old type 624 at their website, but they had a new type at photokina...
Kind regards, Peter E.
