Samyang 35mm T1.5 AS UMC Lens

United Kingdom, August 9th 2012 - Samyang Optics is delighted to announce three new additions to the popular Samyang family, all of which are dedicated for cine purposes.

These lenses are based on the existing types dedicated for digital photography. The new VDSLR lenses differ with the inclusion of follow-focus gearing and decoupled aperture. Such alterations allow the user to smoothly and quietly change focus and aperture / depth of field whist filming. Another feature is the visibility of the aperture and focus scale on the side of the lens.

Initially available in Canon and Nikon mounts. Due for release August / September 2012.  Expected street prices will be:

14mm T3.1 ED AS UMC - £329.99 / Euros 409.99
24mm T1.5 ED AS UMC - £529.99 / Euros 649.99
35mm T1.5 ED AS UMC - £419.99 / Euros 519.99

  2. Great initiative from Samyang. We wish Samyang to introduce a few other cine-lenses i.e. 50mm, 85mm, 100mm & macro lens.

It would be better if Nikon, Canon, Tamron, Tokina etc follow Samyang.

  5. @ Pacific - Samyang already make an 85mm Cine lens, and a 50mm is rumoured for next year, although no official announcement as yet.

Details on the Samyang 85mm VDSLR can be found here: http://www.samyang-lens.co.uk/samyang-85mm-t1-5-as-if-umc-vdslr-lens.html

There is no plans that we know of for 100mm or macro lenses at this time.
