Grenoble-based MicroOLED has announced the world’s highest pixel density OLED microdisplay, developed for use in digital cameras, camcorders, night-vision systems and other applications. The 0.61” display features 5.4 million gapless pixels, putting all currently available electronic viewfinders to shame. The company claims the display is “most suitable for defence, medical and professional camera applications that demand sharp images with very smooth transitional tones”. MicroOLED’s new microdisplay comes in full colour SXGA or monochrome formats (2,560 by 2,048 pixels).
