Light Architect Magazine has announced its 'Euphoria' photography competition. The theme is deliberately open to interpretation. EISA have unveiled their photography award winners for 2014-15. Eleven different companies shared the 19 different awards between them, including the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH4 as the "European Photo & Video Camera", the Olympus OM-D E-M10 (pictured) as the "European Consumer Compact System Camera", and the Canon EOS 1200D as the "European Consumer DSLR Camera".

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) has announced the results of its international photographic competition. A panel of 45 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from nearly 5,000 total entries from August 4-7 at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Over 1,800 images were selected for the General Collection and 918 (roughly 18 percent) were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection — the best of the best. The Loan Collection images will all be published in the “Loan Collection” book and over 200 selected General Collection images will be published in the “Showcase” book by Marathon Press. To view full results of the contest, head to the website below.

PicStop has launched a new photographycompetition. The theme of the contest is “Cities” and each entrant may submit up to three photos, complete with titles and descriptions. Images must be in JPEG format and must not exceed 300 kilobytes in size. Photo-on-canvas.co.uk has announced a Europe-wide photo contest called “Summer of the Century.” In cooperation with FF-Fotoschule.de, Heise Media, GFW Publishing and Photo-collage.net, thousands of participants in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands have been asked to participate in the competition, which runs until 31 August 2014. Recipients of the call for entry include over 100.000 B2C-customers of the company's webshops at Photo-on-canvas.co.uk, Acrylic-glass-photo.co.uk and their equivalents in the other language regions. Participants can decide to compete in either the “Professional photographer” or “Amateur photographer” category. The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers has announced the winners of its Land and Sea Photography Competition. Alessandro Tear’s photo “Vignette Pier” (reprinted above) was chosen as the winner from over 560 entries. Alessandro remarked on winning the competition "It was taken with a Canon eos 550d with a 24-70mm 2.8 aperture lens with a 195s shutter length. It was taken in Brighton of the West Pier at sunset with a neutral density filter." Alessandro has won 12 months membership to The Society.

The Port of Tyne Reflect Awards is calling for the people of Northumberland to submit their photos and films in the North East’s biggest photo and film competition. The competition is open to amateurs and professionals alike, with categories including North East Life, North East Nature, North East People and North East Film, plus a special category of Reflect Photo and Film Youth to encourage young people aged 16 and under to enter. Entries close on 19 September 2014. For more details, visit the website below.

The winners of the world’s longest running photography exhibition have been announced. Student, amateur and professional photographers from around the world were invited to enter their images to The Royal Photographic Society’s International Print Exhibition 157, and over 6,600 images were submitted. The five award winners are Jacqueline Roberts (Germany), William Lakin (UK), Mandy Barker ARPS (UK), Tamara Staples (USA) and Damien Wootten (UK). The exhibition at Berkeley Gallery, Greenwich Heritage Centre, Woolwich, runs until  28 August 2014 before moving on to venues around the United Kingdom.  All the selected images will be posted on the RPS website at the beginning of August. X-Rite today launched a photographic competition, challenging photographers all over the world to capture their ColorChecker Passport in some of the locations they will be visiting during the summer holiday season. The “Where in the World is Your ColorChecker Passport” photo contest runs until 15th September, with weekly judging taking place every Thursday. The weekly pirizes include X-Rite products such as the critically acclaimed ColorMunki Display, i1Display Pro and ColorMunki Photo. At the end of the competition, X-Rite Coloratti and world-renowned portrait photographer Greg Gorman will select one final winner. The winner will have the opportunity to have a personal conversation with Greg to choose a signed 13” x 19” print of one of Greg’s masterpieces. Entries can be submitted via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #ColorCheckerContest as well as that of the location of the shot, for example #greatwallofchina.

The Heart of Devon Tourism Partnership has launched a photography competition to find images this summer that capture the uniqueness of the ‘Heart of Devon’ be it a magical moment, special event or festival, well-known landmark or hidden treasure. The winning image will be used as part of a Rugby World Cup 2015 tourism promotional campaign for the region. The winner will also receive a £100 voucher for photography equipment and a half-day session working alongside Devon based professional photographer Tony Cobley. Tokyo Laundry, a casual fashion lifestyle brand that incorporates vintage Americana influences, has announced a photo contest. Open to UK residents and anyone currently studying and living in the United Kingdom, the competition gives winners a chance to take part behind the scenes in shooting the Autumn/Winter collection for Tokyo Laundry. Each entrant may submit two photographs that capture the essence of the brand. The deadline for entries is the 20th of July 2014. A sea view photography competition, run by the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society, is still on the hunt for the UK’s ultimate sea view. Having already seen a wave of entries, the competition, which is in its second year, will be judged by a panel of experts:  Matt Havercroft, editor of Discover Britain Magazine, Kate Westaway, a marine photographer and TV producer and Commodore Malcolm Williams, the Charity’s chief executive. The prize, donated by P&O Ferries, will be a five-day return crossing on their Dover to Calais route for a car or caravan and up to nine passengers. The trip can be booked any time between now and June 2015 and it comes in a celebration envelope. The deadline for entry is 5pm on 8th August.

This summer Olympus are asking the United Kingdom's amateur photographers to take a shot at becoming a master photographer in a new competition they are calling Olympus Protégés. Entrants to the competition will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the photographic industry. To be in with a chance of becoming a Protégé, entrants simply have to select the category that they would like to master, and then upload the photograph they are most proud to have taken along with a message supporting why they should be chosen.

The team behind this year’s South West Coast Path Photographic Competition announced that David Noton has agreed to come on board as their professional judge. “As a travelling professional photographer for almost 30 years, it’s been a rollercoaster of global adventure which has illustrated just how lucky we are to have such a jewel as the South West Coast Path on our doorstep," David says. FXB International, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to lifting people out of extreme poverty, today launched a global photography competition to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The competition will see one talented amateur photographer win a half-day photography masterclass with world-renowned photographer, Jillian Edelstein and the chance to have their winning image featured alongside Jillian’s as part of an international exhibition launching at London’s prestigious gallery@oxo in August this year. The exhibition, Framing Hope: Celebrating 25 Years of Poverty Eradication with FXB International, will feature 25 inspiring images shot by Jillian Edelstein, capturing the stories of hope and success of families in Burundi, China, Colombia, India and Rwanda who joined the FXBVillage programme. To enter, amateur photographers will need to submit a single photograph that best conveys the theme "Framing Hope". Lytro today announced the Lytro Photo Adventure, ­ a chance for five U.S: photographers to win a once-in-a-lifetime, all-expenses-paid trip to Iceland to take part in an exclusive photo shoot with Chris Burkard, a premier adventure lifestyle photographer. Communication Arts magazine has published the results of its 55th annual photography competition. Of the 5,223 entries submitted to the 55th annual photography competition, only 155 were selected by a jury of respected creative professionals. The selected projects are handsomely reproduced in Photography Annual 55, the July/August 2014 issue of Communication Arts, both in print and on the iPad, and online at the website below.

MDL Marinas have launched their annual photography competition. Openn to both amateur and professional photographers alike, the competition closes at midnight on Sunday 10th August, with the winning shots set to be unveiled at September’s PSP Southampton Boat Show. The winner of MDL’s Photographer of the Year will receive a boat portfolio taken by professional marine photographer Brendan Fitzgerald of Fitz Marine Photography, presented in a handcrafted, leather bound album worth £700. The runner-up will enjoy a magnum of Champagne. In the Under-16 competition, the winner will be presented with a Nikon Coolpix AW120 digital compact camera, whilst the runner-up will be awarded £50 worth of Amazon vouchers.
