The Nikon Coolpix P900 is a new digital superzoom camera with a record breaking 83x optical zoom. In addition to its unprecedented zoom power, the 16-megapixel Nikon Coolpix P900 comes equipped with an array of features such as Full HD video capture, built-in GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi. Whether shooting above a crowd or from the stands, users can easily frame their subjects by using the camera’s built-in EVF with an eye sensor or the high-resolution, vari-angle 3-inch 921K-dot LCD screen. In the  United Kingdom, the camera will start shipping on 19th March, priced at £499.99 / €649.00. In the US, the Nikon Coolpix P900 will be available next month for $599.95.

The Nikon Coolpix P610 is a 16-megapixel superzoom camera with a tilt-swivel screen, an eye-level EVF and 60x optical zoom. Other features include a 7fps continuous shooting mode, Optical Vibration Reduction, a range of filter effects, special effects, picture controls and a macro mode. Additionally, users can shoot Full HD movies with stereo audio recording or create a time-lapse video using the camera’s new Time Lapse feature. The Nikon P610 also features built-in GPS and Points of Interest (POI), allowing users to geo-tag shots and view where they were taken on a map. The Coolpix P610 also allows users to quickly and easily send photos to a compatible smartphone or tablet using the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi and NFC technologies. The Nikon Coolpix P610 will be available for an SRP of $499.95, starting March 2015.

The Nikon Coolpix S3700 is an NFC and Wi-Fi enabled digital compact camera with a 20.1-megapixel CCD, 8x optical zoom and lens-shift VR.  For photographing fast-moving kids and pets, the S3700 features Subject Tracking to track the subject and keep it in focus. Users can also capture 720p HD video, or use various photo effects and Glamour Retouch modes to fancy up their photos. The  S3700 will be available in Silver, Red and Pink for a suggested retail price of $139.95. (Note that the Coolpix S3700 was already announced in the UK in January.)

The Nikon Coolpix L32 is a new, easy-to-use 20.1-megapixel compact camera with 5x optical zoom. The AA battery-powered shooter can record HD videos and offers 15 scene modes for capturing stills.  The Nikon L32 will be available in red, and sold for an SRP of $119.95.

The Nikon Coolpix AW130 is a 16-megapixel waterproof (100ft / 30 m), shockproof (7ft / 2.1 m) and freezeproof (14F / -10C) camera with built-in NFC and Wi-Fi support. Boasting a 3-inch, 921k-dot OLED display, the Nikon AW130 also offers an integrated GPS module and a Nikkor branded 24-120mm (eq.) f/2.8-4.9 lens. The camera can even be remote-controlled over Wi-Fi, using a smartphone or tablet computer. The Coolpix AW130 will become available next month in Yellow, Blue and Black for a suggested retail price of $349.95.

The Nikon Coolpix S33 is a waterproof (33ft / 10m), shockproof (5ft / 1.5m) and freezeproof (14F / -10C) camera with a 13.2-megapixel CMOS sensor. Other highlights include a 3x optical zoom lens, a dedicated movie record button and 1080p video recording. In addition, the Nikon S33 offers creative fun for the whole family, with 16 creative styles and effects options. The Coolpix S33 will be available in March 2015 in white and blue for a SRP of $149.95.

The Nikon Coolpix L840 is a 16-megapixel camera with 38x optical zoom, Wi-Fi and NFC technologies on board. The AA battery-operated Nikon L840 sports a tiltable 3-inch 921K-dot LCD display and comes equipped with lens-shift Vibration Reduction to combat image blurring caused by camera shake. The easy-to-use shooter can record Full HD movies as well as 16-megapixel stills. The L840's fixed-mount zoom lens offers a focal range equivalent to 23-855mm in 35mm terms. The Nikon Coolpix L840 will be available in black, purple and red for a SRP of $299.95.

The Nikon Coolpix S9900 is a 16-megapixel compact camera with a 24-720mm (eq.) f/3.7-6.4 lens, lens-shift VR, WiFi and NFC. In addition to these features, the Nikon S9900 incorporates built-in GPS and POI technology that records the longitude and latitude of where any image was captured; while the three-inch, 921,000-dot vari-angle screen assists users in taking photographs from unusual angles. For those looking to hone in on their creative skills, this powerful travelzoom also sports automatic and manual exposure mode controls as well as new time-lapse video recording. The Coolpix S9900 will be available in black and silver for an SRP of $349.95.

The Nikon Coolpix S7000 is an ultra-lightweight 16-megapixel compact camera with a 25-500mm (eq) f/3.4-6.5 lens, NFC and WiFi. Marketed as the World's lightest camera with 20x optical zoom, the Nikon Coolpix S7000 is equipped a Target-finding AF system that enables users to pin-point their intended subject and accurately capture even fast moving scenes. Additionally, lens-shift VR technology helps minimuse blur resulting from shaky hands. The Coolpix S7000 will be available in March for $279.95.

The Sigma dp0 Quattro is a new compact camera with the Foveon X3 direct image sensor and a 21mm f/4 lens. With the addition of the dp0 Quattro to the line-up, photographers can select the most suitable camera based on their photographic needs; 21mm (SIGMA dp0 Quattro), 28mm (SIGMA dp1 Quattro), 45mm (SIGMA dp2 Quattro), 75mm (SIGMA dp3 Quattro) and 90mm (SIGMA dp3 Quattro + dedicated conversion lens 1.2x).

The Sigma dp3 Quattro compact camera incorporates a newly developed Foveon X3 direct image sensor and a 75mm lens f/2.8 lens. When the dedicated conversion lens FT-1201 (optional) is attached to the front of the lens, it magnifies the focal length of the lens by 1.2 times. Pricing and availability of the Sigma dp3 Quattro are yet to be announced.

The brand-new Ricoh WG-5 GPS is designed to be waterproof to a depth of 14 metres, shockproof against falls from heights of 2.2 metres, and cold-resistant to temperatures to as low as -10°C. Sporting a 25-100mm (eq.) f/2.0-4.9 lens and a 16-megapixel imager with sensor-shift image stabilisation, the Ricoh WG-5 GPS is capable of recording Full HD movies at 30 frames per second.. It also provides such creative movie-shooting tools as a high-speed camera function for slow-motion playback of captured movie clips, and a fast-forward movie function. A micro-HDMI terminal (Type D) is provided on the camera body for simultaneous output of Full HD movie clips and sound to external audio-visual devices. A new (Flash Off + Flash On) "Mermaid" mode has been added to the list of flash modes to consecutively capture two images of the same scene — one without a flash illumination and another with it — with a single shutter release. The new Ricoh WG-5 GPS’s exterior design is easy-to-hold owing to it’s non-slip body, and comes in a a choice of two colours - orange and gun metallic. The recommended retail price is £259.99 / $379.95.

Canon has unveiled a collection of new models in its acclaimed PowerShot, IXUS and PIXMA PRO product ranges - the PowerShot SX410 IS, IXUS 275 HS (also known as the PowerShot ELPH 350 HS), PIXMA PRO-100S and PIXMA PRO-10S.

The compact PowerShot SX410 IS combines an incredible 40x optical zoom and 80x ZoomPlus technology in a small-scale body. The PowerShot SX410 IS will be available from March 2015 with an RSP of £249.99 / €299.99. In the USA the PowerShot SX410 IS camera is scheduled to be available in March 2015 in red or black for an estimated retail price of $279.99.

The Canon IXUS 275 HS' 12x optical zoom is teamed with Canon’s HS System and 20.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor. The IXUS 275 HS will be available from May 2015 with an RSP of £189.99 / €299.99. In the USA the PowerShot ELPH 350 HS camera is scheduled to be available in April 2015 in black and silver for an estimated retail price of $209.99.

The new PIXMA PRO-100S and PIXMA PRO-10S replace Canon’s existing PRO-100 and PRO-10 printers respectively. The PIXMA Pro-100S will be available from February 2015 with an RSP of £499.99/€599.99. The PIXMA Pro-10S will be available from February 2015 with an RSP of £699.99/€829.99.

The Olympus Stylus Tough TG-860 is a new, 16-megapixel compact camera that is waterproof to a depth of 15m, shockproof from 2.1m, freezeproof to -10 °C and crushproof up to 100kg.  The camera sports a 21-105mm (eq.) f/3.5-5.7 lens and offers improved video capture options, GPS with multiple satellite system support, built-in Wi-Fi, a variety of shooting modes and Art Filters for capturing and sharing expressive images directly from the camera. The Olympus TG-860 features a 180-degree flip LCD, two customisable function buttons and Full HD video capture at 60 frames per second. Additionally, the Stylus Tough TG-860 can record High-Speed Movies at 120fps at 854x480 (16:9) or 640x480 (4:3) or 240fps at 640x360 (16:9) or 480x360 (4:3) resolution. A Time-Lapse Movie mode is also available, capturing images in 0.5, 1, 3, 6, 12 and 30-second intervals. The Olympus Stylus Tough TG-860 will be available in April 2015 in black, orange and white for  £269.99/$279.99.

Olympus Japan has announced a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled camera unit designed for use with smartphones. The Olympus Air features a Four Thirds sized 16-megapixel MOS sensor, a Micro Four Thirds lens mount, an electronic shutter with a top speed of 1/16,000s, an 81-point AF system, a shutter release and a tripod socket. Weighing-in at 147 grams, the Olympus Air can be controlled via a smartphone app. Going on sale on 6 March 2015, the Olympus Air has a recommended retail price of 36,504 yen. The product will only be available through the Olympus Online Shop, and there is no word on international pricing.

Canon U.S.A. has issued a product advisory to users of its Powershot SX280 HS (pictured), S120, ELPH 135, 150 IS, 340 HS and 140 IS digital compact cameras. According to the company, some units of the potentially affected products may exhibit certain operation errors due to insufficient contact between the camera’s battery terminal and the battery, even when the battery has sufficient power remaining. To check if your camera is affected, follow the instructions below.

Olympus has released a comprehensive firmware update for the Olympus Stylus 1. Version 2.0 adds compatibility with the WCON-08X Wide-angle Converter and CLA-14 adapter that together convert its lens' widest focal length to 22.4mm (eq.) without affecting the f:2.8 aperture. The new firmware upgrade also adds new Interval Shooting and Time Lapse Movie modes and compatibility with OI.Share v2.5, which adds remote wireless shutter release from a smartphone. Version 2.0 is available free of charge for download via the Olympus Digital Camera Updater.
