Panasonic DMC-L10DCResource have reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10, a new 10.1 megapixel DSLR camera with a unique 2.5 inch free angle LCD screen complete with full time live view.

“With their new Lumix DMC-L10, Panasonic has created the closest thing to a point-and-shoot experience on a digital SLR that I’ve seen yet. The L10 has live view with contrast detect AF, face detection, a rotating LCD display, scene modes, and an easy-to-use interface. Some of those features come with tradeoffs, though, and I’ll discuss those below. Even with all those consumer-friendly features, the L10 is still a full-fledged D-SLR, offering full manual controls, generally robust performance, and superb photo quality.”

Spyder3Photo-i have reviewed the Spyder3 from Datacolor, a new monitor calibration device aimed at photographers needing the most accurate colour for digital editing.

“I have been using the Spyder 3 for about a month and it has delivered very high quality results, the colours on my screen are vibrant yet faithful to the originals. I like the speed increase in both creating a profile and re-calibrating, this should encourage users to check their system more often.”

Olympus SP-560 UZDigitalCameraInfo have reviewed the Olympus SP-560 UZ, the successor to the SP-550 UZ, which adds Face Detection and a new 8 megapixel sensor.

“The revamped Olympus SP-560UZ will retail for $499, the same introductory price as the SP-550. This price is expected as the old model is, well, old. And the new model isn’t very different than the old one. Sure, it adds face detection and an ever-so-slightly wider lens, but that doesn’t justify any major price hike. As for value, $499 is at the high end of what most consumers want to pay for a non-DSLR camera.”

Sony S700CNET have reviewed the Sony DSC-S700, which offers 7.2 megapixels, 2.4 inch LCDa, ISO 1000 and a 3x optical zoom lens.

“In the highly competitive low-end camera market, it takes a little more work to stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately, the frill-free Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S700 can’t quite keep up with better same-priced models like the Canon PowerShot A550 or Sony’s own, slightly more expensive DSC-W55.”

Panasonic DMC-L10Megapixel.net have reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10, a new 10.1 megapixel DSLR camera with a unique 2.5 inch free angle LCD screen complete with full time live view.

“The Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 is an innovative entry-level digital SLR, but one with a price that — at least at this point in time and when purchased as a kit — places it on par with significantly more advanced cameras, and which is, in our opinion, somewhat difficult to justify by the inclusion of a 2.5-inch free-angle LCD monitor. Still, the DMC-L10 offers good characteristics and a high image quality, particularly when used in the RAW format, which in combination with its advanced Live View system may mitigate its rather high cost.”

Canon SD870 ISImaging Resource have reviewed the new Canon SD870 IS camera, which offers 8 megapixels and a 3.8x, 28mm wide zoom.

“There’s a lot to like about the Canon PowerShot SD870 IS. Perhaps the best selling feature is the large and lovely 3-inch LCD screen, which makes an excellent playback device. Moms who want to carry around their own “brag book” of weddings and newborns have an excellent choice here, although I found the slideshow options a bit wanting. This is not a camera for someone new to digital photography, but rather for someone who knows their way around a digital camera…”

Olympus E-3ePhotoZine have previewed the new Olympus E-3 DSLR camera.

“I’ve not been an Olympus user for years, and didn’t really find the E-1 that exciting. This camera would certainly tempt me into the world of the FourThirds system as I can see some clear advantages. It’s a solid built model that handles well, menus are complex, but I’m sure anyone who’s already a regular Olympus digital User will soon get to grips and those who arent may just need some help from the manual for a few weeks.”
