PNY Technologies’ SDHC cards are rated Class 4 and can transfer data at a minimum of 4MB per second to support performance requirements of today’s Class 4 (or lower) rated host devices, such as digital still and video cameras.

Megapixel.net have reviewed the new 10 megapixel HP Photosmart R967 digital camera.
“In the final analysis, the impression one takes away after using this 10-megapixel compact is rather mixed. While the maximum image size of this compact makes it possible to crop out undesirable areas of images and then print them to standard sizes 4 x 6 (10 x 15 cm), or 5 x 7 (13 x 18 cm), the fact is that most users will not fill albums with 8.5 x 11 inches (A4 approximately) prints. However, the physical dimensions of the CCD, and the number of pixels that it supports makes it more prone to noise than a comparable size sensor with fewer pixels. “

CNET have the first online review of the Leica D-Lux 3, which offers a 10 megapixel sensor, 28-112mm lens, 16:9 format and optical image stabilizer.
“Unfortunately, these are extremely small pixels, which equal extremely high noise. From a measurement standpoint, the D-Lux 3 fares much better than the DMC-LX2 at all ISO speeds, with the gap widening as ISO sensitivity increases. However, that seems to be caused by Leica’s more-aggressive filtering, which reduces sharpness. The good news is that they print better than they look on-screen, though you’d be well advised to avoid serious crops.”

DigiCamReview have reviewed the Canon PowerShot A700, a 6 megapixel camera with ISO 800, 2.5 inch LCD and a 6x optical zoom lens.
“I’ve been using the Canon Powershot A700 for nearly 6 months now and taken thousands of photos with it - this camera has consistently produced excellent results and been able to take great photos in every situation, including WWE shows! Image quality is excellent with great colours, and the 6x optical zoom lens is an excellent feature, especially as the camera is not much bigger than a lot of other 3x optical zoom lens cameras.”

ePhotoZine have just reviewed the Olympus E-400, the world’s smallest and lightest DSLR camera.
“For such a light camera (375g body), the E-400 feels reassuringly solid, though the very smallness does mean that there is little in the way of a hand grip on the right side. Somewhat annoyingly, the hook for the neckstrap is mounted right on the corner where you hand wraps round. The control buttons are all small but easy to use and the on/off switch and control dial both feel solid. The dual card formats of xD and CF are easy enough to insert and retract from their side mounted compartment while the menu system itself is thankfully – given some of Olympus’’ previous versions – straightforward and easy to navigate.”

DCResource have published their review of the new Nikon D40 entry level DSLR camera.
“Overall, the D40 took excellent quality photos, which is just what you’d expect from a digital SLR. Exposure was usually spot-on, though the camera blew out the highlights in two sample photos—I think this is a metering issue. Colors were very saturated—Nikon definitely tuned this camera toward the consumer audience. Sharpness was just right: not too sharp, not too soft. As you saw in the previous example, noise levels are very low through ISO 800. The one real negative here is purple fringing: the kit lens produces quite a bit of it. One way to reduce this annoyance is to close down the aperture a bit (use a higher F-number).”

DPReview have just reviewed the new 6.1 megapixel Pentax K100D DSLR camera.
“Not only has Pentax improved in-camera image processing but they appear to have overtaken some of the competition, the amount of detail delivered is about as much as we could expect to see from a six megapixel CCD. On top of this they’ve also taken the sensible compromise of using a minimal amount of noise reduction and not turning down sharpening at higher sensitivities which means you get almost as much detail at ISO 1600 as you would at ISO 200.”

Photo-i have just started an interactive review of the new A3 Canon PIXMA Pro9000 printer.
“I was surprised that Canon launched another A3 dye ink printer, especially as both HP and Epson are moving away from dye inks to the more stable pigment ink. The Pro 9000 uses ChromaLife 100 inks, and prints using Canon’s own media are claimed to have a 100 year life in an album, or 30 years behind glass. Unframed photographs have a dramatically reduced lifespan of 10+ years. Canon are not sitting back on their success with dye ink printers, they also have a pigment ink printer, the Pixma Pro 9500 sitting in the wings waiting for the final nuts and bolts to be tightened, this won’t be available until early 2007.”

PopPhoto have published their review of the new Panasonic DMC-L1 DSLR camera.
“We wish the L1 were available for purchase without the Leica lens, since there are many lower-cost lens alternatives available from both Olympus and Sigma that would bring this camera’s initial price down considerably. Indeed, sticker shock may be the L1’s biggest drawback and will have many budget-minded DSLR shoppers wondering why they should pay almost two grand for a 7.5MP camera when the Olympus Evolt E-330 costs under $1,000 with the Zuiko 14-45mm f/3.5-4.5 lens (albeit without built-in image stabilization).”

CNET have reviewed the Leica V-Lux 1, which has a 10 megapixel sensor, 35-420mm lens and optical image stabilizer.
“The most attractive feature of the Leica V-Lux 1 is its big, fast, lens: a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 12x optical, 35mm-to-420mm (35mm equivalent), f/2.8-to-f/3.7 zoom. Coupled with Panasonic’s Mega OIS optical image stabilization, this lens’s long reach becomes even more useful, but it would’ve been better if the lens was wider than 35mm. Since not many superzooms go that wide, it’d be a nice selling point and would help when trying to shoot group portraits. Of course, that’d probably push the price of this camera up even more, and it definitely doesn’t need that.”

Imaging Resource have reviewed the the Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd (also known as the S6500fd), a 6 megapixel digital camera with a 10.7x zoom lens equivalent to 28-300mm.
“Don’t be embarrassed if you mistake the Fuji S6000fd for a digital SLR. After taking my test model out of the box, it took a few seconds of monkeying with the 28 - 300mm (10.71x) lens and its rubber barrel grip for me to realize it wasn’t detachable. The substantial hand grip—also rubberized—is a great touch, making this camera very easy to hold on to when toting it around strapless like a pro. Of all the “chunky” superzoom cameras I’ve tested this is the model that comes closest to looking and feeling like a digital SLR.”

Shutterbug have just reviewed the new 10 megapixel Nikon D80 DSLR camera.
“All in all the D80 is an excellent traveling companion. It has a solid feel and strong body build, yet is not a drag on your shoulder or pack. Just about everything you need for field work is accessible right from the body, with the menu offering other layers of goodies. At 10+ megapixels it certainly delivers enough resolution for large-scale prints, and the color rendition and sharpness out of the box is excellent.”

DigitalCameraInfo have just reviewed the new 10 megapixel Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX2.
“The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 is certainly a better deal than the previously released LX1, which debuted at a pricey $599. The LX2 boasts a new faster processor, 10.2 MP CCD, better resolutions in movie and still modes, a larger 16:9 optimized 2.8-inch LCD display, the same menus and many of the same control options. Add all these improvements and the new LX2 outdoes its predecessor in every way. While the hefty price tag is still excessive, it is really the only option for a native 16:9 chip at the moment. Expect the $499 price tag of the LX2 to drop with a little time. Considering the improvements made, this camera makes a far better option than the LX1, although I can’t say its image quality justifies the $500 price.”
