Nikon D80CameraLabs have reviewed the new 10 megapixel Nikon D80 DSLR camera.

“The Nikon D80 is without a doubt a very classy camera. It feels great, handles well, performs superbly and has one of the best viewfinders around. At times when rivals struggled with various lighting conditions, the D80’s metering remained unfazed and quite simply delivered great-looking images every time.”

Sony DSC-W100PCMagazine have reviewed the Sony DSC-W100, an 8 megapixel camera with 3x zoom lens and ISO 1250.

“Sony made a big splash this summer with its first D-SLR, the impressive new Alpha DSLR-A100, but the introduction of the Cyber-shot DSC-W100 was much less dramatic. Aside from a few meager improvements, there’s nothing all that special that will make the 8.1-megapixel DSC-W100 stand out from the scores of other ultracompacts on the market. And at $349.95 direct, it’s also a bit pricey.”

Olympus mju 700ThinkCamera have reviewed the Olympus mju 700 (also known as the Olympus Stylus 710 in the USA), a 7.1 megapixel camera with 3x zoom, 2.5 inch LCD and a weatherproof body.

“It’s a case of love it or hate it whenever a manufacturer breaks from the “thin square box” mould. The Olympus Mju 700 has an attractive wedge shape that is easy to grip and easy to slip in your pocket. This shape makes it very hard to hold your camera with two hands - even if you try to then your left hand slips off quite easily. If you are using it in a high risk environment (such as over the side of a boat) then I’d highly recommend wrapping the supplied strap around your wrist.”

Samsung NV10TrustedReviews have reviewed the new 10 megapixel Samsung NV10 digital camera.

“I’ve already waxed lyrical in previous reviews over the revolution that has occurred in Samsung’s camera design department, so I won’t go overboard on it here. Suffice to say that the NV10 is a remarkably attractive camera, and that the first impression is overwhelmingly favourable. This is, as it says on the box, a digital camera that others will envy. As you can see from the accompanying pictures, it has a very simple shape, with a rectangular cross-section and plain rounded ends. However the form fits the function and the camera is very comfortable to hold. On the front it has a nicely sculpted handgrip with a rubber insert for extra grip, while on the back the lug for the wrist strap doubles as a thumb rest, providing a good stable handgrip.”

Nikon Coolpix S6Imaging Resource have reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S6, a 6 megapixel, 3x optical zoom len, 3 inch LCD digital camera.

“With its attractive Wave design and large 3.0-inch LCD, the Nikon S6 is going to be hard to resist once you’ve got one in your hands. Nikon’s In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, Face Priority AF, and D-Lighting enhancement join the 11 Scene modes and four Scene Assist modes to make still photography a pleasure. Add a wide selection of Movie modes and a Voice recorder mode and the Coolpix S6 is as useful as it is lovely to behold. The large LCD is a great stage for the slide show option as well as Picmotion presentations. And being able to transmit stored and live images wirelessly is a nice convenience.”

Sanyo Xacti HD1ASteves Digicams have just reviewed the Sanyo Xacti HD1A digital camera.

“Ergonomics are great. The HD1a is slightly “fatter” than its Xacti C5/C6 siblings, which actually made it a little more comfortable in your hands. The mostly metal exterior has a well built feeling to it and should survive an active user’s lifestyle. Overall, the various controls are well placed and easy to use, however, I found the 4-way joystick is a bit on the touchy side. The onscreen menu system is very easy to navigate, allowing for quick changes to camera settings. Sanyo’s Xacti series and Sony’s Cyber-shot “M” series are the only cameras we’ve reviewed that can be used by both right and left-handed photographers, due to their pistol grip designed body and controls.”

Kodak Easyshare P712Imaging Resource have reviewed the 7 megapixel, 12x zoom Kodak Easyshare P712 digital camera.

“Image quality was decent overall if not quite as sparkling as I would have expected for a camera with these specs. In outdoor settings, the Kodak P712 had a tendency to overexpose slightly, blowing out clouds and making warm sunlight look harsh. Because the camera is so adjustable, I’d recommend turning down the exposure at least a third of a stop if you plan on shooting in bright settings. When it comes to exposure, the Kodak P712 offers as much or as little control as you could want. An Exposure Mode dial on top of the camera offers Auto, Program AE, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual, Scene, Movie, and three Custom presets.”

Canon PowerShot A710 ISDCResource have the first review of the new Canon PowerShot A710 IS digital camera.

“The PowerShot A710 IS takes an already excellent camera—the A700—and adds some one really useful feature (image stabilization) and one not-so-useful feature (more pixels). Despite going up from 6 to 7 Megapixels, the A710’s photo quality remained very good, with noise levels that are perhaps lowered than on its predecessor. When you look at the whole package—from the photo quality to the image stabilizer to the manual controls—you’ll see that the A710 offers a lot of camera for your $400.”
