The Kickstarter project designed to help fund the commercialisation of the Lomo'Instant camera stormed past its original $100,000 goal in the first 24 hours and is now well on its way to the 1 million mark. So far, four more color flash gels and a camera strap for each instant camera backer have been added as stretch goals. And now Lomography has announced that if the project reaches $1,000,000, there will also be a Lomo’Instant Close-Up Lens given for free to all camera backers. The macro converter, which allows a 10-15cm closest focusing distance, can be attached to the Lomo’Instant Camera’s built-in wide-angle lens. Fujifilm has released its first weather resistant lens for its compact system cameras. The Fujinon XF18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR covers a wide shooting range of 27mm wide-angle to 206mm telephoto (35mm equivalent). Fujifilm claims that the lens "has the world’s most advanced 5.0-stop image stabilisation technology" and features a dust-proof and waterproof structure with weather resistant sealing. Samsung has announced a new digital campaign which will showcase the potential of the Galaxy K Zoom. ‘100 Days of Family’ will celebrate the diversity of modern British family life by inviting 50 families from across the country to tell their unique stories through the lens of the Samsung Galaxy K zoom. Featured families won’t just be parents with young children – the campaign will also capture families in the wider sense – aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, pets and the like. The International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum will open its upcoming exhibition, Portrait/Process, on 19th June. Running until 28th September, the exhibition appeals to the voyeur in all of us while exploring the various genres of photographic portraits. Providing a historical perspective on the portrait from the daguerreotype to the smartphone, Portrait/Process is divided into sections exploring the various portrait forms such as the environmental portrait, the self-portrait, the vernacular portrait and the historical portrait. The Opening Reception for the Portrait/Process exhibition will take place on Thursday evening, June 19, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm. This reception is free and open to the public. Nikon has issued a firmware update for the Nikon 1 S2 compact system camera. According to the company, Version 1.01 fixes the following bug: "When Display brightness under Display in the setup menu was set to a negative value, monitor display turned completely white and actual display could not be seen. This issue has been resolved." You can download the firmware upgrade from the website below.

Adobe will announce updates and  new features for its Creative Cloud service on 18th June. The company has already released a video giving us a sneak peek of a new feature called Focus Masks.
