Panasonic have today unveiled three lenses for their new GM-series mirrorless cameras.

In addition to the 12-32mm lens announced alongside the GM1 camera, Panasonic are also developing the Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 ASPH. and an as yet unnamed 35-100mm lens.

There are no details yet on pricing or availability of either the 15mm or 35-100mm lenses.

Nikon has published five full-resolution sample images captured with the new Nikon D5300 digital SLR camera. Taken using a variety of lenses including the AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G, the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, the AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 40mm f/2.8G and the AF-S DX Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR; these Nikon D5300 samples were all shot at low sensitivity settings such as ISO 100/21°and ISO 200/24°. The Panasonic GM1 is a tiny Micro Four Thirds camera with a 16-megapixel sensor, 1036K-dot touchscreen and Wi-Fi connectivity. Other highlights include a completely silent electronic shutter with a maximum shutter speed of 1/16000s, focus peaking, pop-up flash and Full HD video recording capabilities. The Panasonic Lumix GM1 comes bundled with the new Lumix G VARIO12-32mm (24-64mm equivalent) f/3.5-5.6 Asph. MEG O.I.S. pancake zoom lens. The kit will be available from December, priced at around £629 / $750. The lens will also be sold separately for $350. An auxiliary grip for the Panasonic GM1 will be available for £89 / $100.

The Nikon D5300 is a new mid-range DSLR camera. Nikon’s new DX-format D-SLR features built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, a 24.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor with no optical low-pass filter, EXPEED 4 image processing engine, 3.2 inch vari-angle screen, ISO 10-25,600, 39-point AF system with nine cross-type sensors, and Full HD movies at 1080/50/60p.

The Nikon D5300 will be avilable in black, grey and red for £729.99 / $799.95 / €899.00 body only,  £829.99 / €1029.00 with the 18-55mm VR lens, and $1,399.95 with the AF-S NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens. Sales start on 14th November 2013.

Benro has launched its new S6 Video Monopod, a 3-leg folding base monopod combined with Benro's S6 Video Head for increased weight capacity. This heavy duty S6 Video Monopod provides a 13.2 lb payload capacity as well as a 4-step counterbalance that is necessary when working with heavier cameras and longer lenses. The S6 head includes an independent pan lock, which allows the user to pan smoothly without having to turn the entire monopod. Manfrotto has announced its latest professional bags collection for photographers. Comprising 16 camera bags in five styles, the new collection features a Camera Protection System (CPS), which provides protection where it is most needed – at the centre of the bag. Fotodiox has released its next-generation LED light panels; the Fotodiox LED-312D, LED-312DS, and LED-1024AL. The three new LED panels feature all-metal barn doors to shape and control the light, while a locking system keeps the barn doors in place, no matter how the light is mounted. The lights feature a backlit LCD panel that displays the percentage of light intensity and remaining battery life. We've directly compared the new Sony A7 full-frame compact system camera with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and the Canon EOS 5D Mark III.

As you'll see in the gallery, the Sony A7 is much smaller than Canon's full-frame DSLR, as you'd expect, but it's actually about the same size as Olympus' new mirrorless offering, which uses a comparatively tiny Micro Four Thirds sensor!

Obviously you then have to factor in the lenses, which are bigger on Sony's new FE full-frame system, but it's clear to see that Sony have put a lot of effort into making their new A7/A7R bodies as petitie as possible
