CEWE Color has just launched its new Photo Legacy service. This service offers digitisation of analogue media including negatives, slides, prints, VHS tapes and cine film. Photo Restore is an additional service available across prints, slides and negatives which improves the quality of the print through a digital image filter, enhancing colour and contrast. To take advantage of the new services, consumers can take their old prints, negatives, slides or footage into selected Boots (those with a Photo department) and Jessops stores across the UK. LPA Design, manufacturers of PocketWizard Photo Products, have released a new hotshoe-to-miniphone cable (HSFM3). This three-foot cable, which has a basic (non-TTL) hot shoe on one end and a mono miniphone connector on the other, allows photographers to slide any speedlight style flash into the shoe to avoid using the sometimes unreliable or missing PC port.  The miniphone end plugs into either a Plus radio (PlusX, Plus III, Plus II or Plus Receivers), MultiMAX Transceiver or FlexTT5 Transceiver. Other features of the new HSFM3 include a ¼-20 socket below the hot shoe, gold plated contacts and robust design to ensure reliability.  The HSFM3 is available now at an estimated retail price of $40. Also available is the new locking PC to miniphone adapter (MPCF-L, $15), which allows users to convert any cord with a PC connection into a miniphone connection.

The Epson Expression Photo XP-950 is the first 6-colour photo all-in-one that offers A3 printing. Thanks to the rear speciality media feed, users can print onto a variety of media up to A3 size, while the two front-loading paper trays allow users to switch between photo and A4-sized media, without having to reload the paper during printing. This printer uses Epson’s Claria Photo HD ink, a six-colour ink set (black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta), which delivers smooth tonal gradations, deep blacks and rich, vibrant colours. The Expression Photo XP-950 printer includes Epson Connect, which allows you to quickly and easily print documents and photos over Wi-Fi from smartphones and tablets. The Plugin Site has released Version 2 of its BWStyler software for Windows. Designed to perform black-and-white conversions, create traditional b&w effects and visually style b&w photos. BWStyler features 25 effect types and 680 presets as well as plenty of masking options for applying the effect to only selected areas of a photo. JixiPix has released Version 3.0 of Simply HDR for iPhone and iPod Touch. Nikon has issued firmware updates for a number of its Coolpix digital compact cameras. Firmware version 1.1 for the Nikon Coolpix L28, S3400, S3500, S4400 and S6400, version 1.2 for the Nikon Coolpix S4300 and version 1.3 for the Coolpix S9300 all fix a bug that, in some rare cases, prevented the camera from turning on, or prevented operation. Firmware version 1.1 for the Coolpix S5200 and S6500 (pictured) additionally improve the functionality of the Wireless Camera Utility.

Lomography has released a special, limited edition version of its ‘La Sardina’ camera to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Where’s Wally? (known in the United States and Canada as Where's Waldo?). Shaped like a humble sardine can, the La Sardina Wally Watcher 35mm film camera offers a 22mm wide-angle lens, double exposures and long time exposures. Also equipped with a Wally embossed lens cap, the La Sardina Wally Watcher edition is priced at £65.

Wacom has updated its Bamboo Paper app to Version 2.0  Originally an app focused on note taking, it now offers a broad range of writing and drawing tools, such as a watercolour brush and pencil, that enable users to create particularly individual digital notebooks. Bamboo Paper now features an improvedpalm-rejection, eliminating almost all accidental marks while sketching or drawing. Combined with the Intuos Creative Stylus, the new digital stylus from Wacom, Bamboo Paper 2.0 provides an even more natural and intuitive drawing experience. The app in its basic version can be downloaded for free. Canon today announced two new  premium compact cameras. The Canon PowerShot G16 (£529.99/€649.99/$549.99, pictured) is an updated, Wi-Fi enabled version of the company's existing G15 model, while the PowerShot S120 (£449.99/€529.99/$449.99) improves on its predecessor - the PowerShot  S110 - by incorporating a slightly faster (f/1.8-5.7) lens and enhanced wireless connectivity options.
