The Olympus OM-D EM-5 was recently introduced to the world after internet rumours had all but spoiled the announcement. The Japanese company first showed journalists the camera in a hush-hush operation in Las Vegas earlier in the year which included being bustled into a blacked out limousine. Now, to give everyone a taste of what the OM-D EM-5 is capable of, they took us on a photo tour of Amsterdam, Holland which included a skate park, fashion studio, some free-runners, a fire breather and James Bond. The O-MD EM-5 that we got to see is still pre-production and is subject to some tweaking of the firmware before it's available in March.

Here are 41 sample JPEG photos taken with the new Olympus OM-D E-M5 compact system camera. The Olympus OM-D E-M5 is an exciting new premium compact system camera with a 16 megapixel Live MOS sensor and a stunning retro design. These photos were taken on a pre-production model of the E-M5 at a press event held in a rainy Amsterdam. At Olympus' request, we can't provide any pictures larger than 1600x1200 pixels and the EXIF data has been removed.

“Continental Drift” is an exhibition of new work - a video and a set of enlarged video stills - by Colin Snapp. Filmed entirely through the windows of tour buses, trains, taxis and rental cars in Morocco, the video “acts to highlight moments of collision between the observer and his cultural restrictions,” the organisers say. Derived from the video footage of Continental Drift, the stills, titled Latitudes, are described as “a visitor’s impressions of the landscape he himself inevitably imprints”. “Continental Drift” will be on display at The Journal Gallery (168 North 1st Street Brooklyn NY 11211) from 6 March until 29 April.

Canon has posted half a dozen full-resolution sample images and a sample movie captured with the full-frame Canon EOS-1D X digital SLR camera. Most of the sample photos were taken at a sensitivity setting of ISO 800/30°, with one ISO 100/21° and one ISO 1600/33° shot also being available for download. The lenses used to shoot the samples include the Canon EF135mm f/2L USM, EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM and the EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM. Unlike the stills, which are presented in their full 18-megapixel glory (albeit with strong JPEG compression), the sample video has been downsized for the Web and is thus not representative of the quality of a movie shot in Full HD mode.
