TiltShift Video 2.0 is an update to Fidel Lainez’s innovative iPhone app, which now boasts a streamlined user interface for the iPad. The program allows the users to process their videos in a way that gives them a miniature look, simulating an effect achievable with an interchangeable-lens video camera and a selective-focus lens. The app also lets the user adjust several settings, including playback speed, image saturation, contrast, brightness, vignetting, start and end titles, fades and soundtrack. Version 2.0 adds iPad support, a redesigned interface for the iPhone and iPod Touch, a number of new image adjustment options, important improvements to to the rendering engine and better organisation in the “Select Video” interface. The app retails at $1.99.

This limited version (only 50 units are available in the UK) has had a complete face lift and features a new finish, thumb wheels, buttons and packaging. In addition, the back LCD and top screen of the Silver K-5 have been reinforced to provide additional durability. The camera also benefits from a redesigned handle, making it more comfortable to use. Following a development announcement issued before Photokina 2010, Canon has now launched the Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM and EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM lenses. Both lenses feature completely redesigned optics, with 16 elements in 12 groups. Each includes the latest Canon Image Stabiliser (IS) technology, while magnesium alloy constructions with titanium components make each lens significantly lighter and even more durable than its respective predecessor. Rapid, quiet autofocus is provided by a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM). Both lenses are weatherproof, and available from mid-2011. Canon has announced the development of a new 200-400mm lens with a built-in 1.4x focal length extender. Called the CanonEF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM EXTENDER 1.4×, the new telezoom will enable photographers to shoot a greater breadth of subjects using a single lens, delivering the best possible image quality at all focal lengths, the company claims. With the use of the integrated extender, the lens becomes a 280-560mm, making it ideal for wildlife and sports photographers.
