Red Bull has announced the biggest Red Bull Reporter assignment of the year. During the Red Bull BC One event in Tokyo, sixteen of the best break dancers from across the globe will compete across a number of heats to be crowned ‘The One’. Red Bull is looking for a talented, outgoing and adventurous photographer “to capture the magic of this unique event”. Interested readers should submit their best photography by no later than 12pm on Friday 5th November and tag it with ‘Red Bull BC One’. Entry is open to all UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man residents aged 16 up to 26 years old. As this assignment is overseas, you must ensure that you have a valid passport and that you’re free from Wednesday 24th November – Sunday 28th November.

This month, East London gallery theprintspace will host the prestigious Hasselblad Masters exhibition. The exhibition will feature stunning large-scale works by each of the 10 finalists of the Masters competition. Tonight at 7pm GMT, Scottish landscape photographer Colin Prior will present images from his new book, High Light, in the Apple Store at 1-7 The Piazza, London. Spending the last five years in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Prior has captured the transient nature of the landscape, often camping on mountain summits to shoot at dusk and dawn. The prestigious title of Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year has been awarded to Hungarian photographer Bence Máté from Pusztaszer for his image, A marvel of ants (above). Bence’s winning photograph is taken from a portfolio that won the competition’s Erik Hosking Award. Speaking about Bence’s impressive portfolio, Chair of the judging panel, Mark Carwardine says, “These six strong images show a range of subjects and styles. The photographer is clearly a master of his craft with an artist’s eye”.

East Central Gallery is going to host the first London solo exhibition by photographer David Adika. Titled “Oululu”, the exhibition opens to the public on 20th November, and runs until 23rd December. Oululu will present some twenty photographs and two prints, which will be displayed in the different rooms of the gallery as a complex installation by the artist. Canon has delayed the introduction of the new 400mm, 300mm and 8-15mm lenses until March 2011. Adjustments in the manufacturing process are the official reason for the 3 month delay of the EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM and EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lense, which were first unveiled at the end of August.
