Featuring Samsung’s revolutionary dual LCD technology, the ST600 and ST100 are the new flagship models of the Samsung DualView camera family. Both models feature a larger 1.8” front LCD screen, Smart Auto (Still & Movie) scene recognition technology and Smart Gesture User Interface. The Samsung ST600 has a 5x optical zoom / 27mm wide lens, while the ST100 offers a 5x optical inner zoom / 35mm angle lens. The Samsung ST600 and ST100 will be available in September for $329.99 and $349.99 respectively, and both will retail at around £299 in the UK..

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 is a new digital camera with a 3.8x, 24-90mm zoom lens, 10 megapixel CCD sensor and HD movie recording. Successor to the popular LX3 model, Panasonic Lumix LX5 features a fully re-designed lens, CCD sensor and image processing engine, together with other improvements and upgrades.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100 is a new super-zoom digital camera with a 24x, 25-600mm focal range, 14.1-megapixel MOS sensor, and 1920x1080 full HD movies. Successor to the popular FZ38 model, the Panasonic DMC-FZ100 the industry’s fastest level of burst shooting at 14 megapixels of 11 fps with a mechanical shutter, plus a 460,000-dot high resolution 3 inch LCD screen.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 is a new super-zoom digital camera with a 24x, 25-600mm focal range, 14.1-megapixel CCD sensor, and 1280x720 AVCHD Lite HD movies. The Panasonic DMC-FZ45 also offers Sonic Speed Auto-focus, a high-speed start-up, manual controls including a new jog dial, and an improved Intelligent Auto mode.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX700 is a new 14.1-megapixel digital compact camera that records 1920x1080 full HD movies and also features a F2.2 super-bright 5x ultra wide-angle lens. The Panasonic DMC-FX700’s new 14.1-megapixel MOS sensor achieves high speed consecutive shooting and full HD movie recording with high resolution and high sensitivity, and the FX700 also features a 3.0-inch large Intelligent LCD with full touch control.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT10 is a new tough all-action compact digital camera with 14.1-megapixels and a 4x zoom lens. The Panasonic DMC-FT10 is waterproof to 3m, shockproof to 1.5m, freezeproof to -10 degrees C and dustproof. With the DMC-FT10, HD (High Definition) movie recording in 720p Motion JPEG is available.

The Fujifilm Finepix S2800HD (also called the S2900HD) is a new 14-megapixel superzoom camera with 18x optical zoom. Featuring Manual, Programed AE, Shutter and Aperture Priority shooting modes, spot metering, CCD-shift image stabilisation and a supermacro mode that allows you to focus down to 2cm from the front lens element, the Fujifilm Finepix S2800HD / S2900HD can also shoot 720p HD video and comes complete with an HDMI port. Powered by 4 AA type batteries, the Fujifilm S2800HD will become available in early September 2010 at a retail price of $259.95.

Fujfilm today announced the Finepix Z800EXR, with next generation EXR sensor and hybrid high speed autofocus. The next generation EXR sensor in the Fujifilm Finepix Z800EXR incorporates a “Phase Detection pixel built-in CCD” that has the ability to intelligently decide between the two focusing systems on the camera. For example, when a bright, high-contrast subject is positioned in the centre of the frame, Phase Detection AF is chosen by the camera for speed; and in dark scenes, Contrast AF is employed for accuracy. Available in matt black, red, gold or shell pink, the Fujifilm Finepix Z800EXR also combines a large and high-resolution 3.5” touch-sensitive LCD with a 12-megapixel Super CCD EXR sensor, a 36-180mm equivalent Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens and ISO levels of up to 1600 at full resolution. Image stabilisation and HD video recording round off the features list. The Fujifilm Z800EXR will be available in late August 2010 at a retail price of $229.95.

The Fujifilm Finepix F300EXR is a sleek, 12-megapixel compact camera that combines intuitive use with a 24-360mm equivalent 15x Fujinon lens and Fujifilm’s next generation EXR technology with hybrid high speed autofocus. The next generation EXR sensor in the Fujifilm Finepix F300EXR incorporates a “Phase Detection pixel built-in CCD” that has the ability to intelligently decide between phase detection AF and contrast AF depending on subject and light levels. Fujifilm quotes a frankly unbelievable focus speed of 0.158 seconds for the system, which is probably a best-case scenario, but still incredible for a digital compact camera. Other highlights include a 12-megapixel EXR sensor, a new image stabilisation system, a 3” high-contrast LCD screen with a resolution of 460,000 dots, 360° Motion Panorama, and HD movie capture. The Fujifilm Finepix F300EXR will be available in late August 2010 at a retail price of $329.95.

Fujifilm has introduced the 14-megapixel Fujifilm Finepix JX280 ultra-compact digital camera with a 28-140mm equivalent 5x zoom lens, AF tracking, HD video recording and a Motion Panorama mode. Encased in a high-grade metal body, the JX280 is not only well protected from bumps and scrapes, but gives a simple, yet elegant design appearance. The Fujifilm JX280 will be available end of August 2010 at a retail price of $149.95.

Lexar has added the 128GB Echo SE backup drive to its Echo line of portable backup solutions. Translocation is a book of unique and intriguing photographs by award winning photographer George Logan. The book, which will be officially launched and previewed at a special event held tomorrow from 6.30pm at the Emwood Gallery - 8-9 Carlisle Street, London, W1D 3BP -, contains images that bring together Scotland’s dramatic landscape with the beauty and fragility of Africa’s wildlife and will be sold in aid of International Wildlife Charity, the Born Free Foundation. The collection of photographs were over five years in the making, with Logan traveling extensively throughout Africa to capture wild animals in their natural habitats, covering Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and even Europe. The landscape shots were closer to home, taking in the photographer’s homeland of Scotland and the wild coastlines of Cornwall. The photographs have received many accolades, including Gold at The Association of Photographers Awards.
