CamFi Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for Remote Zoom & Focus Controller, Controlled by Mobile App

Device can be applied for zooming or focusing when the camera is mounted on a pole or a jib

GUANGDONG, CHINA - May 13, 2020 - CamFi, maker of wireless camera controllers,today announced the launch of an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for its new CamFi ZF Remote Zoom & Focus Controller. The CamFi ZF Remote Zoom & Focus Controller is a powerful accessory for CamFi wireless controller. It works with different lenses and cameras, even manual lens. CamFi ZF can be connected with CamFi CF101, CF102, CamFi Pro and CamFi Pro Plus via USB cable. Photographers can use the CamFi mobile app to control the CamFi ZF for zooming or focusing via WiFi.

The photographer can use it to zoom or focus remotely by using the mobile app. The app also supports “live view” preview for composing. It is able to trigger the photo capturing and start/stop video recording.

CamFi ZF Remote Zoom & Focus Controller is able to save photographers a great deal of time, particularly in the challenging process of focus stacking in macro photography or landscape photography. The photographer can set the nearest focus point and the farthest focus point by the app. Then, he or she can move the focus from near to far and automatically take a series of photos in the movement. Manual lenses and some cameras that use third party lens can work with this device as well.

The CamFi ZF can be applied to hyper lapse as well. The photographer can set the two points for zooming by the app. After tapping the start button, it will control the camera to “shoot-move-shoot” automatically.

CamFi ZF Remote Zoom & Focus Controller uses a belt to rotate the lens, which means it can rotate the lens. Even the zoom ring is stiff to turn. The app supports a calibrating feature, allowing the user to set the maximum distance of the motor rotation for protecting the lens.

Prices for the Controller start from $139 for backers, after which the cost is expected to raise to $219. Backers of CamFi ZF will be the first to receive the product. Delivery is expected for July 2020.
